You did a great job telling the story. I am glad that the wolves and coyotes didn't get you and you found your way home before they did. Good luck to you.

Such an enjoyable read drawing the reader in, very effectively from the start. The language is so expressive'as the sun tilted in the Autumn sky'- time to add a few more chapters ! Wish I had a 6!

This story is well written and terrifying. I enjoyed the fast paced details, and vivid imagery. When I read, "red eyes were all around," my heart skipped a beat. I'm glad you made it home safely. Best wishes in the contest.

Wow-this would be so scary-especially for a child. I love your adventurous spirit and the quietly learned lesson you gained from this experience. This is a good entry for the contest.

Sally,
You did an outstanding job in the penning of this true story.
I am glad you learned your lesson and didn't do anything quite foolish again. I believe, at some point and time in our lives, we have made foolish mistakes. I know I have.
I can only imagine the fear you had, being lost. It is amazing how God will always step in and provide a way out.
Thanks for sharing your true story. The very best to you in the contest.
Have a wonderful and blessed weekend.
Hugs...Portia

Very interesting. Yes, being lost as a child is scary, dangerous and embarrassing all at the same time, but the feeling stick with you for a long time and the memory becomes seared into your mind. A lesson one never forgets.

This story, Lost in the Pine Forest, is a great recollection of one of those exciting times when life or death was on the line while in the midst of rapture with the natural world. Nicely told.

I could empathise with that little girl. I did foolish things llke that myself ending up nt sure if it was the danger or the reactions of parents that was the biggest thing to fear. NIce escription of her feelings an the envionment that she placed herself in

Oh dear, and you were so young. Are all the names of the landmarks and places true names? They sound so romantic and mystical, as if they should be used in a story. Was your Grandfather in trouble?
It was a lovely story to read , spiced with just enough danger.

I could feel the earth, see the woods, and smell the pines! Great job. It sounds about like something I would have tried had my family lived in Georgia instead of Texas!
