"Sweet love you made in the shade," Nomi, you naughty devil you. LOL. In my review to your last poem I read, I spoke of the coming spring. Now, I'm thinking of the coming winter and the naked trees. Thanks for sharing another fine poem. I just wish I had the six it deserves. So far, everything I've read of yours deserves a six. But sadly, they just don't give us enough to go around, for those of us who read and review a lot. I enjoy your work!

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful poem for me to come across early on a Sunday morning. I was drawn to read this more than twice and it has given me something more to digest over morning coffee outside on the porch. You have such a gift! Take care and enjoy your Sunday!

Thank you very much. I so much enjoy being able to entertain, over being a bore or a bother.

Thank you for this wonderful poem commemorating the trees in different seasons. I know most people love Florida, California, and others with its all-around sunshine; but give me the four seasons which is why I love your poem.

Thank you, I am somewhat of a traitor, as I fled Michigan to embrace the warm sunshine of California.

LOL! To each his own.

I enjoyed reading your poem and the cover photo is perfect. I like the way you progressed through the seasons, with your feelings about the trees becoming sadder with each line. Nicely done!

Thank you Gregory. I love the season even more now that I can afford to hire a gardener to rake up the fallen leaves from my trees.

Hello Nomi,
Trees are one of the great metaphors for life
as they mark the passing of a year as the seasons of the sun spin by.
Excellent imagery and personification in your verse and some nice rhymes.
Yes, the winter is bleak, but then spring returns.
Well done.
Best wishes to all.

Thank you Robert. I was inspired to write this poem that started out as a review of a poem written by another poet. I liked what I had written so much that I decided to edit it into a poem and submit myself.

Nomi,
You did an excellent job in the penning of this beautiful poem.
Your feelings spring forth as you give an ode to trees.
Trees provide so much to mankind, beauty, shade, wood, medicine, and so much more.
I believe we have a rare and special relationship with trees. Thanks for sharing a delightful read.
Have a great and blessed weekend.
Blessings...Portia

An elegant and vivid powerhouse--stunning and lyrical--brilliant phrasing. An infinite step up from Joyce Kilmer's poem of this title, which my father always said was pure pap.

A lovely ode to trees with a beautiful personification of the tree. They dance in the spring, whisper in the summery, struggle in the autumn and cry in winter. Kind of life our lives.
Well done
Blessings

As all organic things on earth are alive, the trees are definitely alive. They have been called earth's lungs, providing our precious oxygen. I thank God for our trees. Thank you for your generous review comments.

Such a wonderfully pragmatic statement of such serious emotion. The contrast makes for an unexpeced clarity and impact. I see the seasons in reverse of your emotional journey, which made the poem more interesting to me, but that is just me.

However you see things, however you feel about things, the expressions of your feelings are that matters to me. Thank you for expressing yourself in response to my post.
