This is a very good free verse which deals with memory and reality.
The beauty of nature and the feeling it gives is always better in reality than in your imagination or memory. It is a message of faith to say that you feel closer to the Creator when you are in among nature, as it should be.

I, too, find such serenity in nature. The beauty all around us transcends words, it's true. That being said, you've painted a pristine picture with your fine free verse! Nothing but six stars will do!

I really enjoyed your thoughts I love through nature. I feel very much the same way every time I enjoy the beautiful scenery around me. Nature has a way of speaking to us when God's voice seems to be silent. Or even when it isn't!
You have described the senses very well and the scenery around you. Your imagery is lovely and your depths of sight is beautiful. Thank you so much for this prose. Excellent!

Poetic Visionary, thank you for this validation given for this free verse on nature entwined with human emotion surrounding the feeling of love.

I liked this poem. The word choices create crisp and clear images and emotion connection. There was only a small thing noticed you had the second line in the first stanza capitalised wasn't sure if that was on purpose.
"Today sun shines over my shoulder,
Whispers of a breeze gently flick at my hair."
And on the last stanza I feel like the "for me" weakens this line
"For me, this continues to present a living picture of the meaning of Love"

jennstar perhaps you are correct, perchance you this again --note the change, thanks for the nudge at me to reconsider...

You've put a lot of effort into this one and thank you for your hard work doing that because it makes this poem more enjoyable. The detail and way you brought different but related aspects together is laudable. Thank you for sharing!

JLR - Excellent use of imagery and the senses in this freeverse work. I felt as if I were there in the narrative as I read through the lines. I also like that you have used the same vista from different points in life. I think this is a clever technique to add a richness to the narrative that would otherwise be absent in what is still a stunning imagery poem even without the additional context. Thank you for sharing.

Hello JLR!
Nature, to me, is another word for Love!
And how beautifully you have captured the sentiments of love in your well-crafted free verse offering.
I am surrounded by nature -living as I do on top of a bluff - filled with hardwoods, birds, animals, and of course, overlooking Grand Traverse Bay.
It all brings me solace, peace, and wonder.
Thank you for sharing!

Thank you Diane, I too once lived on top of the mountain, now I am in the midst of the trees in the hollow.

Equally as lovely, JLR, of that I am certain!

Comment from Sandra Stoner-Mitchell
Such beauty has always been there, God and Nature work so well together, is it truly a love story of what is. I love the imagery in your words, the sincerity of what you see, and saw. Nothing could be finer than that. It's sad that we are destroying it. Well done, this was a delight to read. :)) Sandra xx

Well done my friend. A an anthology of time and space, beauty, and splendour.
Your nouns and adjectives take us to places once frequented, as the imagery overwhelms as to things we may have once taken for granted...and how important they prove to be now.
Just a journey into time, and the memories are everlasting.
A calmness that one cannot help in feeling.
Thank you.
My best wishes.

Comment from June Sargent
Our Creator's qualities are clearly seen through his creations. And his dominant quality is love. And since we are created in his image, man is also capable of loving and being loved in return. We just need to see the love all around us and appreciate it. Obviously you have - and your poems reflect it.
