Startling choice of subject. Clever play on the photo and the film--appreciate reference in notes. That said, I've seen reviews that caution that the piece must speak for itself without props of pic and notes.

Well obviously you were not familiar with the film and my notes helped.
I started writing poems in September 2018 and I was told by a few that even pics should not be allowed .. that our words should be powerful enough to convey our thoughts to the reader.
In this particular case it s the pic that makes the poem ..without the pic my words have no weight .
I thought it would be a worthy attempt at humour not my strong point .. if members think I cheated by adding notes then they just won t vote my entry ..fine with me ..
I m here to enjoy myself .. I don t even promote my work .. I think people should be compelled to read someone?s thoughts without the prospect of earning money.
Thank you for sharing your thought

haha... That's Roger the kangaroo who crushes cans; he weighs 200 pounds. Don't mess with him - he'll fuckin' show you who's boss. Sure is funny - and appropriate - to compare him with Travis Brickle.

I'm an Aussie so I know. Roger was born in 2006. If you Google Roger the ripped kangaroo you'll see videos about him.

Thanks!
I googled, saw a couple of videos and read about Roger .. he was saved from the pouch of his dead mother , very sad
He was very massive and he chased his owner on his sanctuary when he got bigger seeing him as a rival.
I was upset to read that he passed away in sept 2018 .. an extraordinary creature.
Had I known his story but mostly that he had passed away , I m not sure I would have use his pic for this humour entry .. ( sigh)

It was sad when he died, but he'd lived a good life at the sanctuary. He was a bit of a character, and funny in his own way, so I think your poem is a great way to keep his memory alive.

Roger did have an internet following ..he was loved by many.
