Hi Bill, Thanks for this. I can just see Bob smiling right now as he reads it. It's sure to please him, and (indeed) all his fans! I loved all the nouns that "pop" in your poem, the rhymes also. Splendidly penned! Enough can't be said about our Fanstory Master!

Exceptional tribute, Bob.
All the words you (he) used were common in the 30's-50's. My older relatives used them sometimes while watching old movie's in a black and white tv.
The fact that Bob used them made his stories more genuine.
I am sorry to know we've lost such a wonderful writer.

Well said, Bill. I think we writers normally write where our hearts are or, I might say, our thoughts are. Mine is where I know something about and lived in most cases. You bring to life something a person should think about. However, it is written to give honor where it is to be. I do hope Bob moved on to a brighter place than the darkness he wrote about.

So interesting that you were able to use all those words and get them to fit in. I am a fan of hard boiled detective fiction, so it was always a pleasure to read the Cleve series. We'll remember all those characters, so they haven't completely disappeared. I think Bob would have enjoyed this very much. judi

Thank you for another great tribute to Bob! And your poem is so full of colorful words that are probably found in Bob's writings! He did a great job with those Cleve Hawkins stories and he's still alive in those works.
