This is an especially exciting chapter. I can hardly wait until Tony gets his just rewards...that is, if he is going to still be living much longer.

I particularly enjoyed reading this line: Visions of a tiny cell and unflattering striped jumpsuit moved her to make the call. It is amazing what the motivator for needed action can turn out to be! :-) xo

Olivia Henry is the lady who has an identity lapse. And now she is walking with a bad person who might just hurt her. Her husband knows that she has metal on the back of her head.....she must get away from this bad person. But can she?

A very clever move by Tony. Disguised and unnoticed he nabs Olivia as a hostage. Who does he have in mind to replace her? We will soon know what his next step will be. The story flows well.

This is definitely getting more exciting with each chapter. I hadn't realized that the curator of the gallery was also blind. Is this correct?
Now that Tony has her in his clutches, what will happen to her?
All this excitement is really getting to me.
I am looking forward to the next chapter because this was a cliff hanger.
My best,
Marie

I think Tony is going to be surprised by Olivia, she's all prepared with her keys inbetween her fingers. A great weapon for the unexpecting. Well, things are hotting up, they've found Tony's gun, but he's found another one, now what? I can't wait for the next part. Well done, Sally! :)) Sandra xx

Hi Sally,
I just realized something I should have noted before... our gangster, Tony the Tiger, is unarmed! Miles has his gun that sleuth Sally discovered in the cab of Big D's transport truck.
oops! I spoke too soon...
"Rifling through a rolltop desk, he looked for anything that might help him: cash, credit cards, or a weapon. In the bottom drawer was a secret compartment he sprung open with a letter opener. "A Smith & Wesson .38, just like mine. Sw--eet!" And now he's armed once again. Look out, Sally!
In your future book (which I'd like to buy), you won't need to supply a brief recap of the previous chapter. But it is much appreciated in the Fanstory edition.

These lines left me confused a bit,
"The petite Olivia stumbled along, tucking her mailbox key between her knuckles, waiting for an opportunity." ... (what opportunity with just a mailbox key?)

"Don't worry, sweet peach, I'm going to let you live. I have another one in mind that will gladly take your place.... Keep moving forward and don't say a word." ... ( "I have another one in mind that will gladly take your place." ... what does he mean by that?)
"Don't worry, sweet peach, I'm going to let you live. I have another one in mind that will gladly take your place.... Keep moving forward and don't say a word."

I was wondering if anyone would notice Olivia Henry... thankfully, Lyle saw her. Why would Tony go for Sally with so many policemen around? And the dog! He's out of his mind. He should be making his escape.

"At this hour, authorities are still processing the scene where the bodies of art curator, Duran Gibbons; and Lafayette Township senior citizen, Lonnie Hastings, were pulled from a Ford sedan submerged in the river."
(the semicolon after "Duran Gibbons" should be a comma)

Nicely penned, Sally! I feel we're getting near the end now. Tony is toast.
Keep up the good work!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Thank you for the lovely review and superb rating! The stars are most appreciated. In self defense I learned that a weapon can be formed from ordinary hard objects: keys, fingernails, a ring with a stone in it, and even things like hairspray. It gives a stinging effect if applied to the face and opportunity to run. I was also taught aikido by my Green Beret step-brother. He carried a stick while in Vietnam. He was a weapons Sergeant. The blind girl is an aikido black belt. Sending you my best today as always,

You have used a couple of good metaphors in this first paragraph. I especially enjoyed you tongue-in-cheek humor. You have described an ordinary behavior, which will draw the reader in: "Analiese strummed her manicured nails nervously as she waited" Once again, you have pulled the reader in to wait. We'll be here.

It is so difficult to come in at an advanced chapter in a book, which is something I seem to be typing a lot today as I review. LOL But it's always good to find that I can still become involved with the characters and what's happening even if I don't totally understand it. Great dialogue and descriptions here. I found no errors to comment on, so well done!
All the best,
Jan

You have a great way of orchestrating these stories through the multi faceted viewpoints of different people involved; the sheriff, the detective, the woman with the tip, and the kidnapper who takes the sheriff's wife hostage, and the wife. It really gives us a sweeping experience of the unfolding mystery, and puts us in the middle of the tension and suspense. The dialogue is nice and pointed, the stream of consciousness is nicely composed and the narrative really creates those roller coaster emotions necessary for this type of genre. estory

Oh, Sally, you've done a terrific job of building up the suspense in this chapter! Something big, good or bad is about to happen, and I'll be anxiously waiting to find out what. Excellent writing.
