The so-called premature demise of Scott must have caused a lot of uncalled-for gossips regarding the Officer that assumed too much. So, the apology was truly called for. How embarrassing that must have been for the Officer.

Thanks! I'm pleased to have been able to milk the event and eke out a follow-up! Confession--she didn't make that parting remark--Scott was miffed she was so focused on her embarrassment that she neglected to mention she was glad he was alive.

I would have been mortified (lol) if I'd been Officer McDonnell. But I guess they see and run across so much negative, they just assume things sometimes. I'm glad he didn't croak too!

Hello Liz.

Well after all of the confusion and consternation that occurred at the front door, it's outstanding that the officer's feelings emerged. People always like to hear someone else say, " I'm glad you didn't croak."

Robert

Ah, so the officer not only spreads untimely rumors of Scott's demise but "waxes eloquent" in her parting words. " And I'm glad you didn't croak." is not a line one would fine in a Shakespearean work, I daresay! I do believe he did say "What a piece of work is man..." (and woman officer I would hasten to add!)-- Tell Scott your friends here at FS are also (dare I say it")--glad reports of his croaking were greatly exaggerated!---Karenina

One would thing that a police officer would know to search for more evidence before jumping to such a conclusion and posting it on social media! She should indeed be embarrassed! Lol

Liz,

And I am sure Scott was too! Hahahaha Of course, this could have been the set up for one of those rare occasions we can actually attend our own funeral, right? Could be quite interesting. He could have let it play out naturally to see the reactions...

hahahahaha!

I have a feeling Scott is happy he didn't croak either. LOL I enjoyed reading this update. It's so funny how things happen and you can make these into humorous stories for us to enjoy.

A twofer for another bit of Scott's saga!

I'd hate to read the "misinformed" reports that the officer must write since she jumps to some mighty big assumptions. And you could give her some lessons in humor...."Im glad you didn't croak." Maybe when her boat turned over... a loss of oxygen scrambled her brain.

Smiles and hugs, Carol

That's very kind of her, saying she was glad "he hadn't croaked", I think it's hilarious that people can assume things, we always seem to choose the most negative of things, which is probably the least likely, well done, blessings Roy

This officer did have something to be embarrassed about. I remember a time when I saw what I thought was a funeral wreath on my own next door neightbor's house accompanied by about twenty or so cars at the house. I'd just moved and didn't know the family well, but I did tell my family there was death next door. I later found out it was family reunion and the wreath was a new fall decoration for their door.
