I wish I had a six for this. Sounds familiar in some parts. LOL.
Golf and cheating? I know you would never do that. Now let us see, what handicap?
Good one, Ric. I spend too much time in the Lazy Boy, myself.

Thank you so much, Ben, for your kind words and generous review. Nope, I would never cheat. It's supposed to be a gentle's sport, but now days, they are hard to find. LOL. I've quit playing golf after my second broken neck. My drives went from 340 or better to 250 if I was lucky. And my scores went from low 70s on average, to lucky if I made the 80s. So, now I have three sets of clubs covered in dust and cobwebs, and I'd like to shoot whoever called this the Golden Years. LOL. Not really. I appreciate your encouraging words!

When you reach my age, then keep on writing. Good for the mind.

I, too, now use my recliner to motivate my imagination. And like you, my great adventures (while dozing) are often interrupted by others. I enjoyed reading your backstory, Ric, and learning how you evolved into a writer. A fun read. Rod

Thank you so much, RodG, for your kind words and generous review. I'm just a clown trying to find a circus who will have me, like with my last-week's post about my daily adventure to the grocery. And it's always a plus when such talented writers as you stop by and spend their time reading my foolishness. I appreciate you and your comments! Ric

I'm chuckling and I enjoyed that quick ride in the lounger with you. Made my morning here.
"Confidentialities snugglers" appears to be missing a punctuation mark, or maybe it's just me.
Thanks for the candor and the subtle comments included.

Thank you so much, Joel, for your kind words and generous review. I'm glad I could make you laugh. I'm just a clown searching for a circus who'll have me. Always hoping to put a smile on someone's face with my foolishness. Your kindness and encouragement is greatly appreciated!

Standing ovation.... no, La-Z-Boy reclined and relaxed but the clapping and screaming works just the same. Actually, from that position, one can kick their feet as well without fear of falling on the floor.

At first, I was happy Harry interrupted your upcoming demise, but then (silly me) I realized your hands were wrapped around the damsel in distress and THAT would have been your fatal demise. LOL Good one!

Glad to see you entertaining the reader with your humor and imagination. Good job!

Smiles and hugs, Carol

Thank you so much, Carol, for your kind words and generous review. I'm just a silly old boy who has never grown up (mentally) and still entertains myself with an out-of-control imagination. Sometimes it's good--sometimes it's ridiculous. I'm just thankful when talented writers such as you take time to read my foolishness. I appreciate YOU!

Hi Ric,

Hahhahhah ... Loved this! Yes, La-Z-Boy Boogies are the best kind, seriously.
I just dreamed, well let me tell you ... I was up on this tallest old rusted water tower and two rungs of the ladder just broke on my way up and I have absolutely no way to get down now. But I ...

Dreams are fodder for some people and others are deathly afraid of them. Writers tend to be in the first batch. I enjoyed your post, even though it was filler as you stated in your author's notes :-)

I wish you'd finish this adventure with your ship tossing and crashing on the waves with such force your skin is drawn taut on your face and your hair is peeled back!

Okay? I've become a fan now so I'll be looking for it in my inbox .

Have a great week,
Senyai

Thank you so much, Senyai, for your extra-special six-star review. It's reviews like this that keep us all writing and striving to get better, and without encouragement like yours, I would have given up writing years ago. Dreams truly are the fodder that kickstart the imaginations of many. And that readers spend their time reading is the motivation. You have made my week!

Well deserved, Ric. Well deserved. It was such a clever, personal and honest piece that sent it home for me :-)

I loved this rambling of yours and can so relate to it as I live in a dream world most of the time. 'Barrel-less body'. What a great phrase.Thank you so much for sharing. Love. Jen.

Thanks so much, Jen, for another kind and generous review. If we are honest, most of us live in a dream world much of the time. Especially, over the last couple years of pandemic madness. Stuck in a reality of pain, death, and loss doesn't give people a lot to look forward to. So, our minds have to take over and create our own drug. Now, I like the sound of that; even though, I'm completely clean and boring these days. LOL. I've had a certain unexplainable infatuation with your writing since reading post one. Then, over the last couple of weeks you blew me away with that post I'll never forget. It's like I knew it was coming from the beginning . . . and it did. Sorry for the ramble. Have a wonderful week!

Hey thanks I am so flattered by your words.Unexplicable infatuation? Wow you have made my day. Which one is post one?
reply by the author on 27-Jul-2021
Hey, Jen, I can't remember what the first post was that I read, but it did catch my attention enough to make me start reading everything you post; besides, contest entries, which they don't send me notifications. But the story you posted that I will never forget is "Shotgun Wedding." A story that replays over and over in the lives of so many young, innocent, and naïve. My first son came along when I was 17, and both of our lives could have been easier had we waited until we had known a little more about life. Ric

My daughter came along when I was just 17 also and my son at 18. Life may have been easier if I'd been older, I guess. Jen
reply by the author on 28-Jul-2021
Yes, life might have been easier, but like with my oldest son, we always liked the same clothes, music, and even became best friends and running mates as we grew up together. The narrow age differences have their advantages too. But, things would probably been easier had we waited a few years. Truth is: I guess, we can find good and bad in everything, we just have to take what life deals us. :-)

Welcome to my world. I often visit my childlike imagination world Never. Anywhere and everywhere. Thanks for sharing your adventure with all of us. A nice ramble.

Thank you so much, Dellsworthpoet, for your kind words and generous review. In my opinion, a childlike imagination is the single great tool any writer of prose or poetry can ever have. It can whisk us away to "Never Never Land" in a blink. LOL. Thanks again, I appreciate your encouraging review!

I can relate to your ramble. When I relax on my bed, I go everywhere from pirate ships to alien ships to mountain climbing. Writing takes us away to other places and dimensions and we do not have to move. I enjoyed reading your ramble.

Thank you so much, Mermaids, for your kind and generous review. I'm glad that you too can understand how wonderful it can be to just float off into another world, one created in our own minds. We will always be entertained. LOL. I appreciate your encouraging review!

Lol! Enjoyed your fabulous dream/nightmare (what have you been watching lately? James Bond movies give me those nightmares.) You're absolutely right that we can dream up those stories and write even if we are forced to ride in armchairs to experience them.

Thank you so much, Lyenochka, for your kind and generous review. Yes, my little silly ditties are how I entertain myself. More over-exaggerated, simile-laden foolishness for the most part, but if one person smiles, I've achieved my goal. Then, when I get talented writers such as you to read what I dream up, it's just tequila for the sunset. Much appreciated!

I appreciate your need to have one more review on fan-story. It is compelling for us -they are smart. This is a write I can relate to-time changes out priorities.
