Well done with this format which has so many requirements, which you seem to have accomplished. I like the theme, and you have composed a beautiful poem with thought and care. Well done.

"Weed or Flower", is an extremely well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. Penned with craft and skill. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Oh, they're definitely not weeds. If one of those chooses to make a home in my flower garden, I'll let it. Love the picture as well as the poem, even tho I'm not familiar with this style.

Nice job on this poem. I like the way it all came together. We're starting to come to the end of the blooming season here. The iris's lupines, and some of the roses are all going by the wayside. Fireweed, wanted or not is growing well where it wasn't planted, and the petunias, marigolds and other bedding plants are doing well and I assume they'll hang around until the first frost. The flowers you're describing, are they also known as black eyed susan's? Can't really tell from the picture. Well done.

No, they aren't black-eyed Susans. They're tickseed coreopsis. They're seen along the roadside in abundance. Thank you for reviewing. Good to have you back on FS.

I like the idea of the different form of a sonnet. I appreciate the rhyme scheme, but have always preferred the abab or aabb formula. I really like the last two lines.

You've done well with this Sheshire form, as you've explained it in your notes. The flowers/weeds are lovely, as are your words describing them. The rhyme and rhythm are nicely done. Blessings. Carol

Beautiful presentation. Excellent work with the rhyme. I think those flowers deserve to be called flowers. They are pretty. Good luck with your tickseed coreopsis. With that name, they surely are flowers, not weeds. If they are beautiful, that's the main thing. You really got into the spirit, with the humorous observations. judi

Thanks so much for your review and comments. If it's pretty, then it must be a flower. judi

Yvonne,
I am not sure I know this flower. It seems very pretty in the picture, even as fickle as it seems to be for you. *smile* I've had flowers like that, too. I've tried a few times to get wisteria to grow for me with no luck - I think I even HEARD the little stems laughing, actually.
It's sad when we have our minds made up for us, but the soil and flowers have theirs made up otherwise! hahaha Thanks - a delightful piece!

Thank you so much. I'm not giving up. I'll keep trying. I had them once upon a time, but the rabbits ate them down.

Loved this poem! And I love those tickseed flowers, too! I never tried to grow them but I'm guessing it's because you give them too much loving care like you do for all your plants. They might need more stress to grow? But I have had trouble trying to grow cosmos and they're a wildflower, too.
