A very touching sentimental poem. I remember walking in my father's shoes in my teens. Fathers tend to be taken for granted. We invariably make more of a fuss over Mom on Mother's Day than Dad on Father's Day, for one. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in the contest!

This poem, Father's Shoes, is a neat rundown of a tradition which keeps Dad a part of the generations going forward. A terrific nod to the progenitor of the eternal family.

Wonderful! I really enjoyed your flawless rhythm and rhyming that carried the narrative so well. This is an interesting family tradition - what a lovely way to keep the old man involved in family milestones via his shoes - his influence lives on.
