Author this is a fantastic poem. Extremely well-written with pristine metre and rhyme, and a family tradition carried forward over the generations in response to the shoes prompt.

Amazing job with this!!!! I absolutely loved it!!!! My favorite part is,
And as we go from year to year,
The styles all change, but we'll still hear
That someone's son will want to use
Those old brown worn out pair of shoes.
At family weddings we take pride
To shod the groom on Father's side,
And it's been said that you can't lose
If you are wed in Father's shoes.

Very nice poem with a great choice of words and a good rhyme scheme. The poem spoke truthfully of an actual place and time. It has done so with unforced rhyming a great rhythm.

I always loved when my dad said that I should try on his shoes. I always took him so literally. :)
A nice look at the respect of a fathers shoes, of who wore them, and the joy of believing they fit, no matter what.

This is a lovely, touching, skillfully-written narrative poem. It's wonderful how an everyday object can become a symbol of something noble, great.

This is a delightful poem! Apparently, your father's shoes means so much more than shoes. Your mother is not the only one to be nostalgic about them. In a way, your father can be part of weddings in the future and may all the men in your family fill the shoes of the man that they all admire. Best wishes in the contest!
