When you insert a hyphen between two words they become 'a hyphenated word' and therefore count as one leaving this poem a word short. My solution as a Brit would be to lose he hyphen because we don't bother with hyphens much these day. Americans, I have learned, are more particular in this respect.

The Monarch butterfly is beautiful and deserves a poem. I like the light feel and flow of your words. "Endangered ethereal beauty" is a perfect description of this beauty of nature. Excellent use of words and poetic form.
