I'm sure if there is a problem of any ilk, you are the 'go to' person, so, reading all those self-help books will always be an asset, no matter what.

Seriously, though, nicely done and more than a little humorous. Writing like this takes a lot more effort than people realize. Well done. Love the title, too!
You also gotta have a lotta guts to do comedy these days--it ain't safe. Too many folks have lost (if they ever had one) their sense of humor. I suspect people who dislike humor the most are terrified it may be turned on them, unt zass iss verboten!

I imagine it is interesting to read self help books that do apply to oneself. It takes the reader into another world they are not familiar with. You have written a humorous essay with a unique theme.

Everyone should have a goal of helping themselves become a better person.
I see that you have and eclectic collection of self-help materials. I've searched far and near but it doesn't appear that there is a book to help me with my foibles so I keep them in a handcart that I pull along with me. I've always said, never let an uncomfortable situation go to waste, to modify a quote by Rahm Emanuel.

Well, at least you will know what to avoid should you ever consider going there. I guess, I don't have an addictive personality, as you don't seem to have either. Someone did once ask me if I ever thought I might be an alcoholic. But, I assured them I wasn't, since an alcoholic needs help, I just needed another freaking drink. Of course, that was 30 years ago, now it's water, coffee, or tea for me. :-) Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend!

This is funny and it took to an interesting thought, my ADHD kicked in. LOL TV commercials about medicine. As I watch, I realize how wonderful I would feel having taken that medicine because all the people look like they're having the perfect life, while the announcer reads off the warnings. LOL Anyway, I don't have any of those diseases so I'm safe. Thank you for sharing.

Very funny and well-written analysis of those self-help books. There was a time I had my own collection and found the best use for them was if I need one to balance a table leg.

So we are to ponder self-help today... Since I find myself already going down for the third gasp (at most times) I can't imagine myself throwing out the life saving device as well. LOL At least that is the excuse I shall use why I flip through the pages of my Keto Made Easy, Lose Twenty Pounds in a Week, or "It's Not Your Fault Your Fat." How can one read and completely understand with coffee in one hand and a cupcake in the other? Just messing with you of course... That's how I get my day started at 5AM... laughing with you!
