I wanted to start at the beginning of this story. It is excellent and I will work my way through the other chapters in order. You have taught me so much with this story - technical stuff that is my stumbling block. This is so sad, but life is sad often. It lifted my heart to hear that Mary inherited what she would need to survive. I was never in that situation, but this chapter really touched my deepest heart.

First of all, I thank you for taking the time to read how the journey began in Secrets in the Wind. It's a story that wrapped its fingers around me and grew a life of its own.

Carol, you are a woman of great talent. You just answered a question I was about to write you about. I never have to plan a story and I always have other stories in the background of my mind. I can jump from one story to another without losing my place. It depends on what story is ready to be written. I am just recording what I see in my trance-like state of being. This is a powerful beginning to a new story and I'm all in. I mean, ALL IN. It took me a while to get here - what's new, right? But the world's round. I always arrive, sooner or later. hahaha

Your writing is lovely! You've captured emotion well, and integrated it into your plot, making your reader care. Mary's character was well-developed in this chapter, as was her father. I wondered at the connection to Ch2 until the introduction of Faith and Annie. (That's what I get for reading out of order :-) )

So many twists and turns in life, Mary, like most of us, can never be totally prepared for what might come. But many times, the early trials keep a person from ever fully enjoying the puzzle with missing pieces. Where are all those damn sixes when we need one most. Thanks for sharing.

Good morning... I thought about waiting, but then we all know I have no patience to sit around and wonder what others will think of my story... and can't leave my characters hanging in the wind with nowhere to go, now can I? Not to worry about the sixes. I just hope you enjoy the story.
