This humorous, fifty-word story, Mr. Skunk, has the required word count and proves that even a skunk can be befriended by good old Phil.

I thought this story was funny but I'm sorry, it doesn't read right. It's stiff. I guess the best way to describe it is it doesn't flow smoothly. Maybe write it as if you're sharing it with a friend would help. I'm not sure exactly how to put it into words. Good luck.

Hi Anon,
Hmm, not sure what the point is except Phi made friends with a skunk and now they both smell "skunky", lol. This flash fiction is 50 words satisfying the prompt as a humorous story that need not have a beginning, conflict or resolution.
Well done and best to you in this writing prompt contest. I think the hardest part is making it 50 words exactly :-)
Good luck!

Haha, ell the skunk and Phil seem to be able to ignore the smell since they both have it on their person. Your image choice is great for your fun conversation. Maybe Jake will reconsider when he finds that he's left out of their friendship. Best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

I think that this is pretty cute. Skunks are quite cute and of course, stinky. We had a pet skunk once-she was lovely but even though her glands were removed she was still a bit stinky.

A skunk isn't what I'd have as a friend, but then I'm not Phil. This is a good fun story for the humorous contest, and seeing as you only had 50 words to play with, you did a really good job! Well done and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

-Cute artwork that
goes with your story.
-An interesting take on
the nature of friendship.
-It does come in all
shapes, sizes, and smells!
-It is "a strange relationship."
-Good luck in the contest.

It didn't have me falling over laughing but it was kiddy cute. In real life, skunks really are cute...just try not to make them mad. The cartoon image was adorable and so fitted the story.

That's a cute story. And we can also read it symbolically as not necessarily a real skunk, but a person that no one else wants to be friends with because of some small thing like a smell or odd behavior. Great story about being friends to all. Best wishes in the contest!
