Our soldiers go to war to keep our country safe and free. Most come home with some stage of PTSS
(Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome) These soldiers sent to war are still mostly kids. The things they've seen and had to do haunts them the rest of their lives. Some paid the ultimate sacrifice, others wish they had. How sad. My son spent 3 tours in Iraq and still today the backfire of a car or the sound of fire crackers give him flashbacks.

This is a powerful, thoughtful poem that hopefully helps spread awareness for our soldiers. The ultimate sacrifice for their country. Even the ones that return home have in some way sacrificed their life.
Thanks for sharing.

that is very well constructed and powerful.
You got into the mind of the person and made the reader feel his anguish.
These poor men, lost and alone are truly our responsibility to try to help them.
Whew. That was very sad. I give you a 6.

This is sad for sure! It actually sounds like what happened to my sons best friend several years ago. His wife cheated while he was gone, his brother committed Suicide 3 months before he committed Suicide too. Their poor mother.

What a sad event for the mom. I don't think people who have not experienced such an event can wholly understand the impact suicide has on those left behind. Thank you so much for the encouraging review. Much appreciated.

Felt deep through the well written poem, the final choice of misfire fits all the misfires.

Thanks for sharing the story of a soldier , sadness doesn't kill someone it's lost peace which kills. Nice work , take care!

Thank you for your review. I'm sure many of our soldiers have a difficult time finding peace, if they are lucky enough to come home.
