This story is outrageously funny, taking place during an era I am well familiar with. I like the way you introduce the story and then turn the stage over to Chuck to tell what happened. Very creative

That is so funny, Liz. I can almost forgive him for being a Trump supporter.

and so the cop to lets us go. [... so the cop, TOO, lets us go." ... that's the only thing I could think of that you meant. And I know it's been fixed now ... but I'm doing my job anyway.]

I am floored--Karenina boo$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ted this to the TOP! I had it at 82 cents--she put 36 pumps on it. OUCH.

Thanks--the fix is in--"to" was a leftover from a prior tweak.

This was precious, one of your best yet. The first story with the can of whipped cream exploding and the intoxication explained by a Xanax prescription took the cake, in my opinion. And you tell this was such aplomb, so matter of fact, that its impact is even greater than the content. Story two was also great. Brain dead is a great, politically correct excuse that gets people off your back. And the story about the house key that won't fit in the truck is also great quick thinking. The personality is terrific in the writing and you really have a knack for these little humorous gems. Can't wait for the next one. estory

I'm pretty sure getting drunk has never benefited anybody, EVER!!! If so, I am not aware of it. LOL Thank you for sharing this story. I enjoyed reading. Once again, you did a good job telling it.

Chuck is quite the talker. No wonder you go to him for story inspiration. This is really funny that he let the boys in the car sweat about he leaving the police department.

Those ol' boys must have felt butt puckered when Chuck turned the opposite way from the police station. LOL. Fiction truly is more real than true life, at least sometimes you can dodge the pain and disfigurement. Thanks for sharing.

Oh my, Liz... Now this particular story reminds me of the crazy off the wall things Mike did... before we were a couple.... I laughed my head off because I could actually see him and his friends right along Chuck's side too. Once they were hiding in a field until the cop car went by and discovered the field was the home of a bull. Anyhow they woke up in the morning on top of a huge water tower in the middle of the field... no bull! LOL Well, the story sounded like a lot of bull but they didn't see one and scrambled down and got out of there. I would have loved to have seen them being chased around the field. LOL Thanks for the laugh! I needed it!

Hugs, Carol

Hello Elizabeth Emerald,
Nice piece of Humor Fiction having lucid as well as perfectly matching the theme phraseology, captivating flow throughout from the beginning to the end, and beautifully depicting its theme.
Jimmy and fabricated stories related to him are particularly noteworthy.
Laudable Attempt!

I love your stories, and the characters that always remind me of someone I've known through the course of my life. Your opening sentence is great! Everyone needs a friend like Chuck!

Chuck was a quick thinker, a fast talker, and not easily intimidated by any cop. A fun story even though I expect three times in one night to be able to talk each time may be a little out there. I suspect there is an element of truth behind each episode.
Regards,
Mary
