Very well written and this made me laugh. I've been the designated driver on a few occasions and sometimes it turns out funny and sometimes it turns the police are searching for one very sodden party-goer who has wandered off and found a snug, and gone to sleep. Well done

First off I think this was an interesting very short story. That being said I think this would be great if it was flushed out into a longer story and given more descriptive details. An example would be if you got more physical description of how the manager looked chasing the guys out of the store. Another point was at the end how are the friends going nuts; what are they screaming, how do they look, are they making funny faces or hand gestures.

First off I think this was an interesting very short story. That being said I think this would be great if it was flushed out into a longer story and given more descriptive details. An example would be if you got more physical description of how the manager looked chasing the guys out of the store. Another point was at the end how are the friends going nuts; what are they screaming, how do they look, are they making funny faces or hand gestures.

Hahahaha, Elizabeth, I liked this story. Had it not been for that cop who corporated it would all have ended rather badly for the three young lads. I also like it took place on the Cape, but that is more for sentimental reasons. My family, on my father's side, do hail from there, after all. All the way back to the Mayfair. But that's a by de by. That's crazy stuff, Liz. Chuck must have been at least 16 to be able to drive a car. In the summer of 1964, I was 13 years old and still glued to my bicycle.
Chuck and his buddies were lucky they didn't end up in jail. How fortunate to run into three lenient cops in the same night! Jimmy was loaded, and causing trouble in every town... Falmouth, Dennis, Harwich. And poor Chuckie had to compose stories that were totally unbelievable. If I had been Chuck, I wouldn't have told them the difference. I would have let the boys sweat with worry... escapees from the law! I can just picture them gawking out the rear window for red lights and sirens.
A terrific blast into the past! Loved it. The closest I came to that was one night, driving through the village of Westfield. My best friend, Jim, was driving his car, a 1967 Ford Falcon Sports Coupe... gorgeous car... forest green with a half black vinyl roof and black leather interior, 289 high performance engine, 4-speed standard stick shift, 4-barrell carb, sway bars, and a glorious stereo system that played nothing but Gordon Lightfoot 8-tracks. It would have been around 1971, I think. We had an open case of Alpine beer beside me in the back seat, Jim and Greg up front. And here comes the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) behind us, red lights flashing. Well, Jim tells me to throw the beer out the window. ...What???
"I'm not going to stop the car until you have thrown every bottle of beer out the freaking window!" ... (of course, he didn't say "freaking")
So there I go, tossing out these brown bottles of suds into the roadside ditch. All finished, Jim pulls over with the policeman right behind. The constable shines his flashlight along the ditch... "Are these bottles of beer yours?" And, of course, we lied through our teeth. "Nope!"
Oh my, that was an experience I'll never forget... lying to a cop! But what could he do? He let us go. We weren't speeding. And there were no breathalyzers back then. He knew we were lying, and he also knew we were smart... stupid smart!

An interesting humor tale. It is well written fiction from beginning to end with nice changes in location as the antics get more wild with each new police encounter. It reminds me of the classic SNL skits, back when they were good.

Haha. Another funny story. It literally reminds me of the show on Netflix The Trailer Park Boys. I know what you're thinking, but the first few episodes suck but then it's gold. I swear. Lol. Wtf am I saying? It's SATURDAY.
