Hello Melissa, this is a lovely poem in good 5/7/5, true to form. This reads like a good haiku with your lines one and two interconnecting, and your line three reads like a satori. Lovely entry to the contest. Good Luck - warm regards Dorothy x

Mel,

Exactly right. If we actually stopped to try to count all those 'little things' we'd be sitting there for several suns and moons. *smile* When is the last time you listened to a small child pray? THEY know. Thank you, God, for the grass, and the crayons, and the food, and the lightning bugs, and the... on and on...!!! It's awesome.

Thanks for the reminder!

So true! And without argument. Although rarely practiced :)

This poem is simple and to the point. I'm glad I read it. Thanks for sharing.

The syllables were bang on and the picture...cute.

Keep up the good work!

Life is not always easy to live, but the opportunity to do so is a blessing. So, we should use every opportunity to be useful in this world. I like your short poem. I love the accompanying picture too. Good luck!

Yes, Melissa, it the little things we need to be aware of. The first two lines
of this poem flow and connect well. The last line says it all! I really loved
the theme of these words and pondered on my blessings. The artwork is
perfect and compliments these words. Have a great day!....Maria

You have made excellent use of your seventeen syllables in this lovely piece that describes a wonderful attitude--the feeling, the knowledge, of being blessed by the "little things," which, collectively, are huge!

Amen to this one! So much said here in short verse 5-7-5, dear Melissa. I love surprises and unexpected blessings. It gives discouragement a kick in the pants. Sending you my best today as always,
Sal XOs...

Yes Melissa, it is those little things that count in our lives! Consider your last line as: those little things count! or, little things do count!

Terrific overall presentation for this contest.
