Ah yes, the classical call, of the pirate captains swaggering behavior and distinctive voice. What a way to start a story that sparks interest in those who love these tales!
It seems you have at least some general understanding or done your research on titles of important peoples that belong on the ship. Have you yourself served aboard a shipping vessel? Spice as in excitement or literal seasonings? Regardless, you integrate the use of the topical words nicely, creating the start of what could be a classic endeavor of beloved pirate stories. It seems like you were having fun addressing the guidelines of the prompt, concocting a quick piece that could turn into a longer work if that was something you desired to do.
I'm glad you were able to enjoy participating in this contest, and I hope you did well in the competition!

You got all the words in that were required here and you set the scene for a story we we never told - disappointing that, I thought.
"Ahoy There, Matye's"; Now I may have missed the point but I think this is a typo and Mateys (rather than Matye's and without the apostrophe was intended here
