Sally:

Where would many of us be if we did not trust our instincts and intuitions? I know that every time I fail to do so, I regret it later. It seems Sally is going to have her hands full trying to solve multiple crimes at once - and her artwork hasn't even been stolen yet. Glad she has a loyal husband and trusty service dog on her side.

I feel the same. My instincts are on overdrive as a blind person. You know I?m blind in real life, right? People read me for the longest time and don?t realize that I am actually blind. Most are shocked. Anyway, I decided to make a book series out of this phenomenon and the perceptions of a blind detective. So glad you like. Sending you my best today as always,

Yes, Sally, I realized a good while ago you are blind in real life by some of the comments you have made in replies to reviews or in explaining to me how you do certain things on fanstory. I think you are doing a great service to others who are blind by showcasing what they can do in your novels as well as what you do here on fanstory as a writer. Love you, my friend. jan

Hello Sal.

That was a clever twist in the story to include the television news flash. It fills in some gaps but it has an interest building effect. It's like reviewing the past and what has happened when all of a sudden the present interrupts with additional information, which may or may not be helpful to the detectives. It does add some tension because now it has been made contemporary.

    Hi Sal.

You're welcome. The "news" was a good hook in the story.

That third eye senses danger, Sally. :) Detective Law is loose in the city with her bloodhound German Sheperd. Things are coming close to close with Detective Lieutenant Miles Jean-Baptiste close at hand. :) In reality, there are hundreds, maybe thousands of missing people, some don't want to be found, some are dead and buried, and some are fakes. Thank you for sharing.

The suspense is building well in this Sally. Still so many questions to be answered, but that's what will keep us watching for the next chapter, time after time. Excellent writing.

Oh no, you're being watched! Detective Sally Law has such a close connection with King; she can pick up on his intuition, too. I was really hoping that she would get to meet Olivia Henry, in this chapter, but I guess we'll have to wait until next week.

Suggested minor revisions:

Get some of those as the Motor Court Motel may be our home a little longer."

This was such a great chapter, I didn't want it to end. Tony Alfanzi is such a bad character, I hope the poor truck driver makes it in and out of the diner alive! Could that be the same place where Sally and her crew are eating? If the oil rig is parked there illegally, does that mean Dwayne Cooper is already done for? I hope not.

You invariably finish a chapter well, and the lead up isn't bad either. You always have the dogs as part of your stories, and are great main characters Sally, nobody does it as well as you My friend, well done Sally, blessings Roy

This was good again. Who was the other blind person? You have a clever way of bringing things in that you have alluded to in the past like the tanker in the parking lot. It is good how God increases other senses of the Blind or Deaf. No spags.

I enjoyed this chapter very much, Sally. The pacing is punchy, and moves the plot forward at a fast pace. Dialogue is natural, and the definition of characters and setting done just right. Some excellent turn of phrases such as "etched in his food memory". That's enough to make a person hungry, besides the green thingie which I was hoping was spinach. lol

Just a couple of typos:

catching a ride on a (an) oil tanker

"I'm glad your (you) forwarded some of this DNA stuff to me, Sally.

I switched off my instant messager (messenger, or messages) and leaned back in my chair.

I was being surveiled, (surveilled) and I knew it.

Minor details in an excellent chapter. :))

Thank you for the lovely review and generous stars! I appreciate the helpful critique as well. I use MSN ?Instant Messenger? as a blind person in my stories because it reads all texts and emails. A helpful blind tool especially for a blind detective. I probably should put that again in my author?s notes. I?m so blessed by this and delighted that you enjoyed this chapter. Sending you my best today as always, dear Gloria.

I hate it when I'm left hanging at the end of a chapter. You do it so well! lol. That last paragraph was kinda creepy. Gave me goose bumps. Hurry with the next chapter!

It's always a good way to start off my Sunday, catching up on all the happenings in "Running Blind." Which, I've done my whole life. Not that I couldn't see, but because, I never slowed down enough to look and see where I was going, before running headlong into everything. Thanks for sharing.
