This story was top of the line as far as putting a smile on my face, which
was based on two counts; your beginning (sixi) don't go there, and Ms. Tats, the vowel confusion. Remarkable read.

THANKSSSSSS! Always nice to see you. Stop by anytime! Cheers. LIZ

These three incidents were conflated--Mrs. Tats was my sub--Chuck did the Venitian blind stunt, and my ex husband did the upside down stunt They probably upended the clock too!

Another irreverent tale, this one was much to my liking. I think I would also be pissed about the blinds - but how could you not laugh at seeing the classroom turned upside down? Great work, thanks for sharing. Later daze.

Your sense of humor and story-telling just comes right through your well-written words. I enjoy meeting your characters and all the antics you share. Never a dull moment!

This has to be one of the funniest sentences I've read in a while: "Some of the boys mysteriously relapsed into vowel confusion when they addressed her." Poor teacher.
Did Damon ever make it out of jail? I'm assuming that's where he ended up - LOL

This story reminded me of something that happened to my friend Dee when she worked as a substitute teacher for a week with a third grade class. They were quite rowdy and she had not yet perfected her disciplinary skills. Each day was a horror story. On the third or fourth day, she was writing out a poem on the blackboard which she planned to teach the little imps. It took few minutes. When she turned around, she found herself staring at an empty classroom. The kiddies has silently stolen away into the cloakroom at the back of the class and were hiding there.

Thanks for another laugh!

An enjoyable and entertaining short story that brings back memories of youthful pranks in the classroom.

Nicely composed and presented.

Good job. Thanks for sharing.

Turning the Tables" is a tale likely to turn every reader into remembering a classroom clown by all. However, I'm sure many will have nothing but sympathy for Mrs. Tats. A fun read.

That's a pretty rowdy crowd you hung out with, Liz! lol I think in this day and age they just might be suspended from school. I wonder what, if any, was their punishment back then. Well written. Thanks for the chuckle.

The best I can do with this one is to tell you a story my father (which would be in the 1930s) and his friends put a teacher's outhouse on top of the town square water pump.... Of course, the town only had a one hundred or so people so not difficult to decide what boys did it. Must be demons in every teacher's class...LOl The one about the blinds would be a good one though!

Who would have thought that they would cleverly display their take on the teacher's words! Did they upend the clock too? Definitely should have! Well told, hilarious story!

Ahh, I know it well, the torture of the teacher by monsters, lol. so many reduced to tears, losing their desire and will to teach, unable to control their students, the students later in life feeling the twinge of shame.
