How adorable! It always comes out great when you write about your fur babies. Loved the word impish! Very good acrostic. Your final
Sum up line was so cute...twin wreakers in non-skid paws.

Hi Rdfrdmom2,

This is so cute and playful and indeed an Acrostic :-). Artfully written, your poem scampered along just like your Scotties, Mac and Gwen ( adorable names btw)

I enjoyed this delightful post and thanks for sharing, it was quite refreshing to read!

Have a great weekend,
Senyai

I enjoyed your poem. I also love Scotties!!

I am in awe of people such as yourself that have the ability to write poetry. For me, poetry is one of the most beautiful ways for a person to express their feelings.

Both my mother and grandfather were blessed with that ability. I apparently did not inherit it. I have enjoyed poetry all my life and have tried writing it countless times but to no avail.

This is a lovely poem, Jan, and a great memorial to your sweet babies. I can understand why you miss them so much. I like the rhythm of the poem as well, and that picture is so adorable.

"No Skid Paws", is an extremely well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. Penned with craft and skill. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post.

One of God's biggest blessings is giving us furbabies to love. They make no demands, but give us love without boundaries. I loved your poem and the smiles it brought to my face as I envisioned your words. Smiles, Carol

Thanks so much, Carol. After sharing two very sad stories about these precious pups, I felt I needed to share something fun. Jan

My son had a Chow puppy that would chase him so fast he would almost climb the walls. They were a wrecking crew to a clean house. What a wonderfully written poem. I wish I had a six for you. Best of luck with your writing!

Have a great day, and God bless.

I actually did catch the acrostic poem form. It's unusual, I do. Having problems understanding poetic forms, but I do get the acrostic. It and sonnets are my favorites. I have a dachshund, Harley. They are notorious stinkers themselves and when I am having to 'talk' to him about his behavior, I have to try hard not to keep from laughing because it was actually funny. Thank you for sharing.

barbara, I quickly gave up scolding my Scotties because I could never remain stern with them. I just fell in love with them the night we met them. They were four months old and the owner did not want them separated. Fortunately, at that time in my life, I could afford both which I had planned to do in the first place. Jan

I am glad you posted this one, as it goes full circle back to when they were little and so full of energy and fun. Mac and Gwen lived a wonderful life with each other and with you and your husband. Gwen will be greatly missed as was Mac so many years ago. The memories sustain. If you have photos make a photo book. I made one for myself with photos of my golden Labrador, with photos from our walks, her having a bath (and the woeful expression on her face), children coming up and hugging her .... It was very therapeutic.

Wendy, interesting you should say that. I have one from when they were young. I was searching my laptop yesterday for pictures so I could make a collage. Thanks for the suggestion. I felt I needed to post something fun after wringing people's hearts for the last week. Jan
