I definitely learned something new and interesting here...although I have never attended a high stakes art auction before (or any other uptown kind) I did not realize they included after parties...probably restricted to purchasers, gallery owners, and art agents and critics.

Your stories are always intriguing, Sally.
Hugs, Janet

a great mystery, that's for sure....so much going on at once, but that's what keeps the story suspenseful. This man that keeps getting away is really a criminal. Hoping they will soon capture him.

The excitement continues in this seventh chapter.

In Section One, Sergeant Dina Ray narrowly escapes the vortex created as the car sank. She had no way to know its occupant slumped over the steering wheel was dead long before. Still, she managed to see that the escaped occupant had reached the river's edge, climbed out, and gotten away.

In Section Two, we see Tony Alfanzi heading through the brush toward a campfire in the distance. From what we already know of him, whomever he finds will be endangered. Yes, "Miss Hairdo" likely will care more about her ratings boost than the lives associated with the bodies found.

In Section Three, Detective Lembowsky repeats what Lieutenant Harris had just called to tell him about the self-proclaimed "fan" looking for The Blind Girl, and what followed from her alertness and response.

When he mentions bringing posies to Dina Ray at the hospital where she is under cautionary observation, it is in (your) character to say Suzy will be sent to save him from having to make a side trip to buy them. Such caring gestures would justifiably endear any character to readers.

When Annalise Irving brings the painting's buyer, Spencer Whitehead, over for greeting, something lacking in his handshake and manner make you wary. Is it possible that Tony Alfanzi managed to clean up and get there so fast with another victim's money under control? If not, we now have a new character to wonder about.

In Section Four, you show us yet another heartwarming glimpse into your life with Jackson while you prepare both to thwart the crafty villain and to visit Olivia Henry with King and the blanket piece you saved.

The "green thingy" is somewhat akin to James Bond's "shaken, not stirred" preference, serving to show a character's uniqueness as a real person.

Superb, and aptly illustrated by the hidden tiger image.

Wow...wow! You are catching up fast and I'm,seeing stars here! Thank you so much, Mike. I thought you might have known what the green thingy was, or kale smoothie. Breakfast of champions! I will include the recipe in the newest chapter. I'm delighted you enjoyed chapter seven.
Sending you my best and blessings always,
    Sal :))

I was about to ask what the green thingy was when I see you have it identified. I can imagine a kale smoothie is pretty good until the kale is added. : )

Sally:

I can't wait to find out what that green "thingy" is going to be. I'm picturing it in my head but can't think of its name to write it here. I love this chapter. Mystery and intrigue coming from every corner.
BTW, gotta go. Battery dying.

Detective Lembowsky pulled Jackson and me aside at the auction's after-party; handing me real coffee. It was rich, dark, and pungent. My taste buds detected an all-nighter coming. Bad news came with the cream and lumps of sugar.

This made me think when I took my wife for her first visit to my relatives in Vidor Texas. They are coon A

As usual, Sally, you leave me wanting more. :) Good story and writing about your location. All the area is known to you, Am I right? Let me ask you. Are you a real detective? I know you're a great writer that is why I asked. :) Thank you for sharing. What is the green thingy?

Goodness knows how I missed you, Sal, I'm so sorry I don't have a six for this well written piece. I'll watch out for you next time. Sunday?

It seems they haven't looked in the boot yet to find the second body. Now that man who paid $3ml for Sal's painting, was a bit weird. Hm, she needs to keep a watch on him, I don't trust him.

This is coming along wonderfully, Sal, and it doesn't look like the Blind Girl is going to get much rest, does it? Well done, my friend, and I'll make sure I look out for you on Sunday. I hate it when that happens. Warm hugs, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Thank you for the wonderful review and stars. I appreciate you stopping by for my book chapter. No worries on the six. I've been SO sick with a food borne bacterial infection. It's been most difficult to read and write. I feel spaced out on these meds. I managed to crack out a book chapter so we'll see ya tomorrow. Sending you my best today as always,

Oh, Sal, I'm so sorry you've been feeling ill. A food born bacterial infection? I don't think I've ever heard of that one. Mind you, there are so many bad things flying around these days. I hope you feel better soon, Sal. Sending you a hug. xxx

Beautiful image, in this chapter. Might that be the painting? Another fascinating chapter, as always.

Who's the creep who bought the painting? The plot thickens! I felt sorry for Sergeant Ray, with all that diving, and still missing one of the car's occupants. At least she's being looked after.

Just one little error:

It's a impenetrable area, thick with overgrowth.
-->
It's an impenetrable area, thick with overgrowth.

I have three more questions.

Who is "Miss Hairdo News"?

Where were you sleeping, that mosquitoes would be dive-bombing you in an evening gown?

And what kind of green thingy was Jackson going to bring you?

For all this and more, I ask Detective Sally Law, unless the answers will be forthcoming in next week's episode!

Thank you for the wonderful review and super shiny stars! I'm so very blessed! I appreciate the critique, too. I have repaired that area.

We are staying in River Ridge at The Motor Court Motel. In the previous chapter I speak of the state bird of Louisiana being the mosquito and one dive-bombing me while sleeping. 'Miss Hairdo News' is the TV news reporter, and the 'Green Thingy' is a kale smoothie. :)) Love and blessings always,

You're welcome, Sally, as always. "Miss Hairdo News," that's a funny one! A kale smoothie sounds very healthy, but for good flavor, I would think it has additional ingredients. Finally, Jackson is a knight in shining armor, to protect you from that nasty "state bird"! Especially, not being able to see, it would be terrible to have a mosquito attacking me in a motel. I would be tempted to ask for my money back. I hope neither of you were bitten. Love and blessings,
    Mary Kay xoxo

Oh, you do love to keep us in suspense! What will she do if Olivia asks her not to reveal what she knows? And what of the escaped killer? This book is going to be a page-turner. I can't wait for the next chapter.
