This new script, Murder at the Melodrama, sounds like willbe a lot of fun to write, as well as for the performers to emote. Good luck!

Thanks for your review and comments. I've never tried a mystery script before, so I don't know how I'll do with this, but I'll give it a try. judi

Is there a butler?

Darn it! I don't have a butler in the script. Maybe I should add one as a character in the play they're performing. judi

Hi Judi,
All that's missing here is a terrible storm outside, rain beating on the roof and thunder booming in a dark sky. I'm reminded of an episode of Frasier when he tried to re-make a radio melodrama, "Ham Radio". Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Roz couldn't speak properly, because she had just been to the dentist and the freezing was still making her lips numb! So many other problems surfaced, and Frasier was so judgmental. One of my favorite episodes...

I know you'll do a fabulous job with this new play, Judi. Good Luck!

Thanks so much for your review and encouraging words. I didn't watch that many Frasier episodes but enjoyed what I saw. I was planning for a power outage at some point. It could certainly be caused by a storm. judi

This is quite an undertaking, but I have no doubt that you'll do very well. I wish you luck, of course. Looking forward to the story. I know it will be very interesting.

Thanks so much for your review and comments. I hope I can get the first scene finished by next week. I have a notion of where I want the script to head, but things can sometimes take an unexpected turn. judi

This looks very challenging, judi, and should be a really interesting plot. I might get confused by the number of characters, but I'm sure it will all come together once you get into the story. I do wish you luck, and will be following it.

Thanks so much for your review and comments. It's a challenge when you have that many characters on hand. I'll try to help you get to know them in the first scene. judi

Count me in! This sounds intriguing--an interesting departure from your other scripts. Do you see this as a movie or TV script, or as theater? Good luck!

Thanks a bunch for your review and comments. I was intending this for a stage play, and I'll have to mention that in my introduction. judi

Hello Judi.
The idea for the play is interesting in as much as it is reality imitating fiction, or is it the other way around? It's an interesting concept and I wish you well with it.

Thanks so much for your review and comments. The murder that occurred then years ago is loosely based on an incident that happened in the county where I lived, and I've been in some melodramas, so that part will be fun. judi

You're welcome

This is a fascinating concept, Judi. I'm anxious to get into it. So your play is about the actors preparing for the production of a play. The murder is not a plot in the play that will be shown but the suspects will be the actors. Gosh, am I just rehashing what you said? anyway, bring it on, Master!

Thanks for your great review and encouraging comments. Yes, the murder occurs and actors are the suspects. In melodramas, there is sometimes a murder (I was poisoned in one), but usually the hero thwarts the villain at the end. judi

Mystery plots are very clever, my mind can't handle the complex and expertly woven plots within plots. But you are very clever with scripts Judy, it will be well within your abilities I'm sure, well done, blessings Roy

More power to Judy! Great write. I'm enjoying the murder mystery and will continue to read. I think you are off to a grand start, so now, as you develop the characters, I enjoy trying to reveal the identity of this murderer.
