This is somewhat of a melancholy, but soft and warm poem. It is nice to know that by tending the garden and watching life fulfill itself, she is able to keep a part of her husband alive and with her. A pleasure to read; nice rhyming.
You have a grammar problem with this line:
the rain, it helps her garden to sustain.
The comma and "it" are extraneous. I think it's easily remedied by changing to "the rain will help"

Hello Mystery Writer!
Goodness!
You have written my biography - albeit my beloved husband is still very much alive.
You have captured the joy of gardening = what I, too, love to do, and in fact, am recovering this evening from a day well spent doing just that!
If I may, one nit:
Rows of potatoes, cabbage, pees, (peas) and corn.
Best Wishes!

Noooo...pee? What was I thinking? Not a good addition to the garden. Thanks so much for this wonderful review and for the correction, it's really appreciated. :)

I really like this poem about a widow who continues to work in her garden as she grows old. You describe the garden nicely as it prospers from the rain and create sympathy for the woman. You also use the required words seamlessly. Rod
