This is a very lovely poem about so much more than just a garden. It's also about a relationship that blossomed in the garden, and continues even after the loss of one partner, which of course gives the garden a spiritual quality too. Very clever and very well written.

Your poem portrays the generous older woman still toiling in her garden. Time is slipping away; her beloved spouse is gone; the prolific beautiful garden links them still.

The rain could well be a metaphor showing the necessity of how difficulties can help things to blossom, such as loving cherished memories.
