Hi Laurie. I am a bit in and out, but enjoyed this read. I have missed a little so catching up will take a read or two, yet...this is a fine read, with much going on. I like these kinds of stories, and I know it will develop even more into an exciting read.

Thanks, RG! I know you're a poet, so don't feel obligated to review my fiction; you can stick to my poems, that's okay. I love reviewing poetry on FanStory, but like you, I find the chapters of authors' books kind of splintered if I'm not getting them on a regular basis and reading each one, you know? Maddie is kind of stumped when she finds the earrings. They pose some questions she hadn't entertained before. So, she wisely decides to see what Ms. Esther might know about them. Her mind is always mulling the consequences of her father's will and what she should do about it. As she mulls this over she reaches her destination only to find Ms. Esther's neighbor nosing into her visit. More questions now. What to think about this blatant interloper? Hmm.

I liked it. It's open and flows well. I like the cat who is also personable and self-righteously sarcastic as most cats are to their human pets. It definitely makes me want to know what's going on with the neighbors. Suggestion: When Ms. Esther mumbles something at the end, wouldn't it be intriguing for Maddie to try to interpret what she's said. You know, something like "Ms. Esther shrugged and mumbled something" that sounded like... It might add a little more mystery to Maddie's interpretation of Ms. Esther even if it's a misinterpretation or doesn't make sense. Great chapter. I would love to see the rest.
