The sergeant was taking a risk jumping in like that. Obviously, these men were up to no good, and might deliberately drown her if she catches up with them. I felt the tension in the scene of the restaurant making preparations for the evening. Something is about to happen. It will be interesting to see who bid so high on that painting. Hmmmm. The thick plottens. lol

Sally, I really like this story.
You use the first person well! It can be a limited point of view, but you make sure your audience knows what we should know.
Your work has detail and great characterization.
Good luck in the contest, Sally.

WOW!! That's a lot for a painting. I also thought Camille Jean-Baptiste and Olivia Henry were the same person and since Olivia has memory loss it sounds good to me. I am wondering those what caused her to in the mental hospital. I can't wait for the answers.

I could easily give you a six on everything you write, if they gave us enough to go around. But luckily, today, I get to offer you a just reward for another fine chapter. Thanks for sharing.

"Sal, is this supposed to be (an) educated guess as to what Camille Jean-Baptiste looks like today?"

Charlie Chaplin once entered a Charlie Chaplin look-alike contest and came in third.

Fuchsia

The piece is a bit chaotic, I think rather than just having the scenes in parentheses it would be better to describe them as part of the prose but otherwise it was a good effort. Good work and thanks for sharing. Later daze.

Thank you for the wonderful review and critique. Chaos is what I?m famous for. It?s not likely to change four books in. It?s best to catch this at the beginning of the book. I doubt anything looks understandable at this point. Sending you my best, dear Fuchsia.

Congratulations on another outstanding chapter, Sally. Not only do we have someone drowning in the river and the real Camille or look alike, but we have $3 million dollars for a painting. If we had time (which we don't) it would definitely be party time and a scrumptious New Orleans dinner would be served. Instead, detective work is calling and... will the painting make it out of the building in the right hands? Great work! Smiles, Carol

This is another very interesting chapter in your story. I'm wondering if the lady who looks so much like the composite photo of Camille Jean-Baptiste is really her. I also amazed at the price the painting sold for. My only question is why did Sergeant Dina Ray jump into the water. Was she hoping to save a drowning person who could be a criminal. The car was going down the river. Did she hope to be able to swim and save someone with all her clothes on?

It's summer and so she's not heavily dressed. A summer uniform has short sleeves and cotton work pants. I'm glad you enjoyed this and I appreciate the kind stars. Sending you my best today as always, Sal XOs...

Oh, I must look at my pictures again, perhaps I could get £3million for one, lol. If I got that in pence I'd be happy!!

Sal has now got to see if that lady is Camille Jean-Baptiste, or just another look-alike. Let's hope it is her and that she just lost her memory of something simple. I know that's not going to be the case, but we can hope!

So, when are we all going out for a meal, then? Treated by the newly gained millions of Sal the detective?? Great chapter, my friend. Warm hugs, Sandra xxxx
