I have more work to do.
I can't go home, until I'm old
and when my journey's through."
Right after that, her fever broke,
and Annie soon got well.
She lived until she reached old age,

This is interesting Beth. We have been told stories that came from our deceased relatives. " My grandfather said "Look there son, they've come to get me.
" My father said "Where Dad. I don't see anyone."
Grandfather said, "There in the doorway son. I'm going home." My mom sat up and reached for the Heavens although she was paralyzed from a stroke. She fell back and died. Good Job. Nancy:)

What a wonderfully written poignant poem! Indeed it is an inspiring poem that tells a wonderful story about your grandmother. She must have been a strong willed , God fearing lady. I agree with her. No one leaves this earth until the call comes. Thank you for sharing!

I am one who believes in 'your time' too. If it's your time you will die. I am not sure why I believe that, I just do. It's like God isn't finished with you, yet, it's not your time. Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. Good luck.

Thank you Barbara. I guess when you feel like that it make you realize that the timing is in God's hands and there is no reason to fear because you have no control over when ;your life will end. That is the way my grandmother felt, so she was never afraid of anything.
