This conclusion is disturbing, but unfortunately looks so true: "Nobody prays.

There are no miracles." How can we shake this lethargic spirit that has overtaken the earth? Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Thanks so much for the excellent review and for understanding the mood I was trying to get across in this poem. We live in an age that trusts the science, and technology, the things from the hand of man that we can see with our eyes. Miracles only come to those who have the faith to believe in them. Whenever Jesus made a miracle, he told the person: "Your faith has made you well." estory

This is a bleak offering, but one that should be pondered. I believe you accomplish your goal of convincing the reader that God needs to be part of our lives. I would have like to of seen adjectives modifying streetlights and drones to emphasize the pollution of the environment. The same for cars, radios and television sets. Examples: squealing cars, blaring radios, glaring television sets. Love the line "Honeybees are dying." Why no picture to accompany the write? Good job!

Thanks for the excellent review and also your perspective and suggestions. I actually like that suggestion, I think adding some color and texture would really improve it. I will probably edit it after a while. Thanks estory

Scary times indeed. You know if all the bees die that we can only live for about another three years. We need the bees to prevent us from becoming extinct. I've watched War of the Worlds recently and this reminds me of it. Scary!

Thanks for the excellent review and for your comments supporting the poem. The bible indeed predicts famine, one on a scale that the world hasn't seen before. But I think it may have more to do with an asteroid strike or catastrophic volcanic eruption. We must keep the faith. Jesus said once: "In my Father's house there are many rooms...I am going to prepare a place for you. Would I tell you that if it weren't true?" estory

From what I gather, there are many people praying for the planet, their country, or their people. Many folks also tout the end is near. And, that the second coming is on its way. So, you are not alone in your thinking, my friend.
The same people who pray are saying there is no prayer anymore. I don't worry too much about the world around me...what I focus on is to better my self and be the best person that I can be. If we all did that, we would live in a better world, I believe. Those are my two cents worth. Thank you for sharing your beliefs and thank you for letting me share mine.
Have a nice evening,
Jesse

Thanks for the excellent review and for your perspective on the poem. I wanted to paint an extreme picture maybe, of course there are some who pray, but I think in today's world they are in a minority. Most of the world, maybe especially the world on media, is firmly rooted in this world made by our hands, the world we can see and feel. This is the mood I wanted to get across. We don't pray for God to end the epidemic, we wait for the pharmaceutical companies to come up with a vaccine. estory

Maybe we did pray for God to end the pandemic, and He sent us the vaccine.
One never knows...God works in mysterious ways. In other words, I think you are focusing on the negative. There is so much positivity going on around us...it is beautiful to behold!
    Have a good day,
    Jesse

The End of the World signs will be many and I see you have mentioned some pretty drastic occurrences. I often wonder how it will happen. Will it come on us gradually or will it happen on one given day. I tend to think the latter. That's why we are told to always be prepared.

Thanks for the excellent review and for your comments inspired by the piece. I am glad it seems to have got so many people thinking...I like to make people think. Jesus said: "The end will come like a thief in the night..." there is your clue. It will come at night, while you are sleeping. estory

Sobering and thought-provoking--chilling rendition of our world on the verge of doom, rife with stark imagery--you pull no punches with this one! Well done.

Overhead the spy and telecommunications satellites (makes this line less repetitive/long)

Other than this small note, I enjoy apocalyptic pieces and this was a good effort. Thanks for sharing. Later daze.

There is no doubt that the world is in trouble. All caused by one and only.... MAN. He wants to feel important. More important than God! To fix things in this world we need to have a strong set of morals. Thanks for sharing this thought-provoking poem.

Thanks for the excellent review and I am glad the poem got so many people thinking. The original sin was man turning from God, trying to become a god himself. For most people, this life is a movement to get out from underneath God, to move into their own spotlight, to shape their own destiny. With catastrophic results. estory

Estory,
The tone of your poem is a tragic one. It serves as a warning for us that we're going to lose our future if we stop caring about our planet and God. It is a sad, and you inadvertently offer us hope: "Nobody prays." To me it could mean if we turn to God it may not be too late.
This is an excellent poem.
Good luck in the contest.
Blessings,
Cindy

Thanks for the excellent review and I am glad it got so many people thinking. I like to make people think. I believe God takes this world one person at a time, he rejoices if just one person turns back to him. So in the end, each person and their return to God becomes precious. estory
