By the sounds of it, these finally come to life, cicadas are causing quite the furor in Eastern USA. They are fascinating, and the artwork shows them as quite beautiful, but I can imagine it causes a wee bit of grief.

I think the cicadas deserve a poem. They may be noisy but I am in awe of creatures who appear every seventeen years. Your last line shows the strength of these creatures and is fitting for the first two line.

So cool! And those cicadas are the prettiest that I have ever seen. The ones I saw were not so nice looking. And they are so LOUD! Yes, I heard that the eastern states are plagued with them now. I like how your poem takes us on that journey from spring rains to summer's loudest insects.
