Oh my God, straight to the point, like when are you going to die, do they know? No more "bullshiting" around about the weight lose, who cares you are going to be dead anyway...

She just blurted it out, not intending to be mean. Chuck, on the other hand, was snarky (fortunately, Emily didn't pick up on it).

What a blatant and unthoughtful question. Sensitivity does not seem to be prevailing in this get-together. You leave us hanging, here. What came next, pray tell.

That's pretty much where it ended!

I love your little (side notes) that help along the story. Extra points for such a clever title!!!And how rude of her! You know I'm not offended by much, in fact there's probably 2% of things that could be said to me or about me that would actually offend me. I'll never forget the time I was most offended and completely appalled by a statement made by a coworker. She said "I can't wait to get cancer so I can lose weight." Isn't that terrible? People sure suck sometimes.

Liz,

Well, there you go. No problems with Chuck then. *smile* Sometimes we look in the wrong direction for trouble, don't we? hahahahaha This was another fun one. Thanks for the smile!

Talk about a hard slap on the back to stop me from choking, a sensational way to finish your article. Isn't it funny, wouldn't it be easier to explain before skmeone put their foot in it? Well done Liz, good writing, blessings Roy

I called my friend in Beverly, MA last week and she said they'd been suffering a heat wave. What an insensitive question from Emily. The same questions could be asked of her, if she is suffering from anorexia. She could easily die from that, as well. The evening must have put you off wanting to eat anything. A great commentary on how we approach the subject of weight loss or gain. judi

Bloody hell! Sounds like Emily didn't lose any weight from her big clumsy foot! Talk about insensitive and indiscreet. Wow!
I enjoyed reading this, Liz. Hope Joe's going to be ok.
Best wishes as always, Debra :)

Wow, didn't see that coming! Has Emily always been a speak-first-think-later kind of person, or does she just not get it? It would seem that she too might not have too long to live either if she's on the border of an eating disorder and not acknowledging it.

Some people would be better off if they were unable to speak, just saying. LOL I do know a few people who would be better off not talking. I used to tell my first graders that not every thought they have needs to come out of their mouth. LOL Thank you for sharing.

Oh My.

That last line is not a shocker. I have heard people say things out loud that I will not even allow me to "think" about silently. That is a pretty shocking statement.
