This was a funny and cute little tale. I got a good chuckle at the ending. It appears the Grandfather's not the only one who's grown tired of watching 'The Little Mermaid'. The scenario you described is charming and sweet. I like how the Grandfather thinks back on past experiences with his own children. It reminds me of how sentimental I am sometimes. Very good depiction of family life and endearing moments.
