Cats love to patrol their territory at night and keep the local creatures in order and take command of the streets, you described this activity perfectly here, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

A wonderful build up, it starts giving the reader an image of maybe a vampire, or just a serial killer, then the ending is "POUNCE" a cat, very well done and best wishes for your contest****kahpot

You've portrayed the bloodthirsty hunting night life of cats really well here. Too often I've been the recipient of my cat's "gift" before she reverts to her sleepy docile day-persona.
Correction:
He (His) owner stroked his ears and loud he purred,

Me too! It's just their nature I guess. Thank you for reading and reviewing my poem. :)

Very well done. I thought it was a human until the third stanza, and even then I wasn't sure. My daughter's cat breaks into the Christmas wrapping paper closet and "kills" the bows. Then, once they're good and "dead" he'll bring them to my daughter's room and leave them as gifts. Thankfully he's an inside cat so that's the worst he can do...
Good luck in the contest!

You had me wondering at the beginning which animal it was that was prowling through the streets.
At first I thought it was a cat and then for a while I thought it was a dog but I didn't think that it was a cat going after the a mouse until you revealed it.
Nice Work.
The picture helps set up the scene.

Oh, how adorable! The stalker turned out to be cat! Speaking with a story with a twist (lol). Excellent and very engaging tale with all the trimmings. Sounded like one of the Hitchcock films until I read the last paragraph to see who the stalker was.
Good luck in the contest - this should do very well.
