Seems like all of the elements are beginning to move in a common direction. The Cold Case team seems as bright and cheerful as I recall and I see that the Olivia is beginning to get glimpses of her horrid past.
Sorry it's taken so long to get back to the story.

The great mystery and its continuation! I sure hope the PD realize that someone is after the art work that belongs to the blind girl. Also that they catch him before he does any further harm.

Hi Sally,
I really like the way you are writing this story, slipping back to the past in 1990, allowing us to catch up on what's happened to Olivia 30+ years ago. I was so glad to find she's still alive! This chapter gave us a lot of info... she got married to Pastor (then Sheriff) Lyle. (So now, her name is Olivia Lyle.) I assume she still has amnesia, though I don't know that for sure. Can people lose their memories forever? And she had her baby... Danielle, who must be around 30 years old, and caring for her mom who is also losing her eyesight, like our Sally.
And you introduce us to Tony Alfanzi, aka, Anthony Fabio, and Tony the Tiger. I could easily picture him burning his blood-stained clothes and tossing the fireball into the ocean. He's got his sights on Sally.
You're putting this story together with precision. Already, there are so many loose ends holding the reader's attention. I wonder how long it will take for someone to discover the dead art dealer, Duran Gibbons. Sally will be drawn into this murder, no doubt.
Keep up the good work, my dear! Excellent writing!
Hugs,
Kimbob

Thank you for the wonderful review and six shiny stars! Wow, Im so blessed. I've lost a few of my regulars reviewers in this book; one left FanStory without a word. I'm so concerned. She agreed to write the Foreward in my second book. Oh well. I'm delighted you are still with me, my friend. It means the world to me. Blessings abundant,

It is refreshing to find police force members being treated with respect the way they are in your story....what is going on in this country now with the unwarranted hatred against police is horrible. I am happy that Olivia found a good man to marry. I like that she is the church organist...wish I were musical but, unfortunately, it is definitely not one of my gifts. lol
This continues to be a wonderful story, Sally! xoxo Janet

The wedding was lovely, Sal, it's nice that they loved each other and I hope nothing from the past comes to spoil it for them. It also looks like the Blind Girl is going to have another problem, Tony Alfanzi. He won't be able to do it on his own, but he'll be sure to get help in relieving Sall of her precious paintings. Another great chapter, my friend. Well done!! :)) Sandra xxx (sorry it's so late, I didn't remember how much there was to this moving house lark! xx

Very nicely written, Sally. Even though I am still figuring the story out, there are elements that shine through beautifully.
For instance your humour with the unanimous agreement to marry. That's terrific.
Also you are working in backstory, which is always an essential element of a novel.
Pleasure to read and review today. :)

You had all areas covered here...from the aroma of food to the peonies that so caught my eye, as I have also included the very flower in my next work, which I am hoping to finish by this weekend.
As usual, your writing has strength and direction in all areas, as natural as shedding peas.
I found myself reading, not looking for mistakes, neither expecting, just looking for the way in, as I have missed some chapters...I need not have looked. I am in, following with little steps.
Can't always be there, but it will be a pleasure to.
My best Sally.
Nicely done.

Hello Sal.
As you build the back story, it sets up some memory of how the main characters were several years ago. With a distracted mind, like mine, I read these parts slowly when there is a transition in time. Over the years I've found transition and location to be much easier for me to comprehend than transitions in time.
There are questions about a Olivia/Camile's history that I'm sure will be integral into solving the crime. You are setting the stage for the investigation and that should be helpful for the reader.

I always think it's a marvellous thing to marry for love, marrying someone one loves despite the fact it's someone else's child in the womb, but that doesn't matter, all children need a dad, and it takes more than blood to fulfil that role. Beautifully written dear Sally, blessings Roy
