Yes, indeed, the winter is keeping its icy grip in your region, even though it's officially spring there, in my experience the weather doesn't observe human observations, heh heh, that's how we know we are merely human, heh heh, great job, well done, blessings Roy

SNOW in May
by aryr

This sounds more like random thoughts than a poem but you told us so it's a fair notice. Snow in May it's rare but happens sometimes. I think it's due to climate change.

Alie,

Are you kidding me? That would be tragic! It's in the upper 80s and lower 90s here - I can't imagine going backward again. Nooooooo...no, no, no, NO!!

The artwork is a little incongruous to me - that snow angel looks rather happy. As I said, I would NOT be happy. hahahaha I would be grumpy and whiney.

Thanks for reminding us how lucky we are!

LOL Robyn and I am originally from Canada, where we get a long winter, short spring and autumn with a bit longer summer but not as long as winter. The snow angel reminded me of the ones I used to make as a child, of course someone else would make the little heads. Thank you so much for reviewing and your laughable comments.

Is it cold where you're at, Alie? :) At least the sun comes out over there. We haven't seen much sun out here in Hondo. It's dreary with all these clouds hanging around like a ball and chain pulling me down. But after reading you my spirit lightens it's 77 degrees and muggy I'm not cold. Take care of yourself try to stay warm.

Hi Jose, we are close to Bismarck, North Dakota, it is normally about 70 degrees or higher for this time of the year. It has been very windy, wind gust up to 80 miles per hour for the past 2 months. The weather has also been much cooler but snow in the end of May was a surprise. Heck we didn't have this much snow back home in Canada, lol. Thank you for reviewing and your fantastic comments.

We gotten winds every night and thunder with rain lately, Alie, but so far no snow. :)

We got sunshine today for a couple of hours. Jim is the type of person that really needs sunshine for a couple of hours daily, its a bummer when we don't get it.

Wow!! I remember having hail on Memorial Day weekend but not snow. Oh my goodness - what weird weather. And I enjoyed your four line stanzas ending with "It's freezingggggg." Please bundle up and stay warm.
Love that snow angel!!

Thank you so much Helen for reviewing and your great comments, I think Mother Nature has turned her back on us. I loved the picture because it remined me of the ones I made as a child, of course an older gentleman made all the heads and the bodies were made of corn husks.

I love that you can make light of all that cold white stuff! I grew up on Lake Erie and I still remember snow for Easter and wearing my new Easter dress to church under my winter coat. I empathize! And I really got a kick out of this!

Thank you so much Susan for reading, reviewing and your great comments. I actually grew up in Canada, so I knew all about this white stuff but poor Jim has never had to live in whiteness or coldness.

I live down south now. One morning our yoga instructor had us lie down and make "snow angels." After class, I asked if there was anyone who had never made one before. Over half the class raised their hand!

I think my fellow artist in FanArtReview has given you a lovely hint."When life gives you snow, make snow angels":) I live in a country that has sun throughout the year. In the cold parts of the world, I see, snow days were the best, especially for the kids. I enjoyed your poem. Thanks for sharing!

The power that is in a great poem is how one gets the reader, to get caught up, inside the moment. It is great poem because I am in LA, it is kind of warm right now, but after reading your poem, I am freezinggggg!

The author's words are descriptive, a reminder, clear and creative. The
author's words are reminding me of the freezing cold weather I experienced when living in NY! These words were able to create a feeling of these temperatures! I love the artwork! Stay warm, well and safe.....
