I hear you! I love my orchids and had to spend time giving them a vitamin bath today. And my wisteria vine outside is flopping over from the weight of the leaves. So, I need to tie that up in the next couple of days. Meanwhile, I have been writing only short haiku pieces. But, having a lot to do is better than having nothing to do!

Yes, many of us have competing hobbies that we need to divide our time between. I like to go outside and roll along (in my wheelchair) in the several nature paths near me. There is one just across the street from where I live...and there are two more on opposite sides of the small town I live in. Two are near the bay in Humboldt county, which is where my town of Eureka is situated. I feel the ocean breeze and watch the seabirds fly or nestle on the sandy beach. We have many different species of birds here.
Anyway, to the poem you wrote! I find the flow, meter, and rhymes are well done. I like your examples of why you love to write poetry and work in your garden. It is hard to do both, but you seem capable of achieving both. I love your picture of the peony bush you have in your garden.

It's hard when you have two competing interests. It's hard to find time for both. You show in your poem how much gardening means to you. On the other hand, the fruits of your gardening surely offer inspiration for poetry. Good luck with both endeavors, and I hope your garden grows beautifully. Lovely peonies. They just don't seem to bloom long enough. The ones where I live are usually gone by Memorial Day. Excellent rhyme. judi
