Comment from Gloria ....
What a fine photograph of a gorgeous flower, Melissa. All the lines in the petals matched equally with the fine lines of your poem.
It's great to see all the colours again and this is not exception.
Wishing you luck with the Committee. :)

Hey Gloria!! So glad you like my camellia and the poem. I wanted to share it with you all. You are in BC, Canada, right? Are you all getting all of the lovely spring blooms there? My summer garden is burgeoning with buds and the fall bloomers seem to be healthy too. I am so excited. I need to write and share my David Austin roses too. Thank you so much, my friend.

That is a perfect flower, how lovely. You must be a great gardener to have a plant with such healthy blooms...I just look at a plant and it dies! Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the contest. :)

A lovely poem about a beautiful flower written by a cultivator of art, Melissa. :) If you grow a bush as beautiful as that camellia plant--can you send me some seeds? My garden is poor because most of my plants died without my care, I wasn't there. Those that made it came and died over here when it snowed. I have about 4 or 5 pecan trees that the squirrels bought for me because I fed them, an olive tree, a couple of roses, and a few flowering weeds. I need plants. thank you... how about sharing? :)

I would love to share with you, dear friend, but there are many miles between my garden and yours. I am envious of your pecan trees. I LOVE pecans and wish there was a place I could go and gather them. I would even sit there and crack them one by one... LOL. I love roses too and have 3 bushes. I try to pamper them. I will post a pick of my red one soon. Thanks again!!

What a stunning picture of your camellia bush. Makes me want my bushes to bloom too. I love spring with all the delicate blossoms spreading color around the yard. It just makes you feel lighter than the drudge of winter. Loved your descriptive words. Thanks for sharing. Smiles, Carol

Hello Carol. Thank you so much for the lovely review. I was glad to be able to share my camellia with you all. The Take a Walk prompt seemed perfect for it. :)

Perfection in a single bloom
outlined in shades of pink.
Concentric circles tease the eye;
they swirl in lines, succinct. (This first stanza pulled me right in. I didn't need to read further, though I did, to know you were a seasoned poet.)
This garden diva shines her best (and this line I love.) 'Garden Diva?'
Great job!

The Camelia is indeed a beautiful flower. Its almost too beautiful to be real. Wow, I don't think I have ever seen one in real life. Only pictures. I love the color. Does it come in other colors as well? Good job and good luck, Melissa. Nancy:)

Hi sweet Nancy. I am so glad you liked my poem and camellia shrub too. Yes, the flower comes in a great many colors, strips, splashes, etc. The cultivars of the camellia bush are numerous.... but, I like mine the best ;). Thanks so much!

-Lovely photo, Melissa,
and thanks for the notes.
-A well written poem with
effective imagery and rhyme
that paint a vivid word picture
of the bloom, like
"concentric circles" that
"swirl in lines."
-I think she is a "garden diva!"
-Good luck in the contest.
