Ciao Sugarray!

I have a camelia in my tiny patch too. But the last years have been a disaster .. due to constant rain, the buds... partially opened ...end up rotting on the tree.

It becomes quite a stinky mess ..all water logged .. very sad indeed.

Lovely pic!

I actually entered this contest too after I photographed a double rainbow during a lull in the weather ( biggrin)

Hello sweet FRanca. I would love to see your camellia and give you a bouquet from mine, but all my blooms have faded. I could give you some roses or hydrangeas if I could reach that far. :). LOL. Thank you.

The rain destroyed the blossom again this year

I love hydrangeas..I have white , deep blue and some purple my favourite hue ..

I stopped trying to dry them to make a bouquet because the colours just didn?t remain so intense.

In Spain we had beautiful tangerine roses ..when we sold the villa after my mother?s passing, pa drug two up (roots and all ) to take back home in Italy but they didn?t make the first winter at 700 m( sigh)

The buds/ flowers were small but so beautiful and their scent was amazing.

    Take care Sugarray!

Glorious! You nailed this flower--the word pic is spot-on for the photo. The elegant imagery is vivdly gorgeous. Clever choice of words, whimiscal phrasing.

What can I say, but hurry spring! The camellia (among numerous others) is my wife's favorite flower. This poem speaks well of not only its beauty to the eye but the balm it brings to the soul as well. Your poem, of course, does both. Loren

Melissa,

She's beutiful! And that's a great image of one of her gorgeous blossoms. I love peonies, too. I used to have peony bush but my hubby accidentally killed it. Grrr....

Thankfully, I still do have some camellias. Thanks!

That was gorgeous. I loved everything about this poem - the glorious picture you took, the rhymes, and flow, the vocabulary, and terrific imagery and visuals.

Good luck in the contest - I think, it should do very well.

What a lovely flower and bloom. I bet you walk every morning to check on your bush. Like your bloom, your description is perfect from the pink outline to the concentric circles. I could get lost in those circles, and I would never tire of looking at them.
Alabama's state flower used to be the golden rod because it is so prevalent along the roadsides. It was changed to the camellia a few years ago, because it seems to grow well here and is so beautiful.
Thank you for sharing your April Love.

Hi Debbie. Thank you for your lovely review. I am delighted to read that Alabama had the good sense to change from goldenrod to the camellia. I always knew ..Bama... was special!.. it also the home of three of my favorite poets.. you, Robyn and Yvette. Would love to move there and we could be a poetic quartet... LOL. Hugs, my friend.
