Yes, it is, but it works for this contest. The woman was leaving the bar and had taken a peppermint life saver to freshen her alcohol breath. So was the vampire really wanting the mint or the taste of leftover alcohol? Only kidding. You did a good job with your contest entry. You led readers to suspect the obvious then threw in that twist. Best wishes.
