Evidently it isn't getting any better in your country of Canada. Sad to hear that things are not somewhat back to normal for you. Are you still wearing the mask? In some areas we must because the younger children have not been vaccinated yet.

This damn Pandemic. Here in Australia we have been safe due to border lockdowns and I live in Queensland way up the pointy end and our Premier is paranoid if an ant sneezes she slams the gates on everyone. Now we are faced with the vaccination to do or not to do that is the question I'll have it in June and pray to whatever Higher Power is still there for a good result. Prayers to you Anne.

Another chapter dealing with the frustrations of pandemic life. I like how you articulated that desire to be vaccinated so you can meet the travel requirements to be with your family again. I kind of did this for the same reason. Nice illustration using that green light metaphor. Being in the pandemic limbo, not essential, you are stuck at that red light, waiting for it to turn green after a year and a half. Also great was this makeshift approach to your faith; the churches are closed, but you still have room for your faith at home. I kind of think it is a throw back to the early Christian days when Christians could not worship openly. estory

Hello Iza.
I hope freedom is on its way to you. Coronella is relentless and doesn't care about your welfare. We went to in-person church this morning for the first time in 14 months. Things are improving here.
Take good care of yourself.

Liz,
Yeah, those vaccination cards remind me of other, long-ago days. Kind of scary in a way. If you don't have the card.... You know?
Maybe not. It's probably just me. Anyway - this was a great message and it felt a little more 'raw' and 'from the heart' than some of the others. Thanks!

We are in the same status here in Ontario too, Iza. Fortunately we're in a small community where risk is minimal and we I can get outside to work in my flower beds, and we ride our bikes on the local trails, seldom encountering anyone, masks always ready if needed. And then there's FanStory, the best escape when the weather is crappy. :)

Good morning, Iza... My son tells me all the time that we have moved into a "dictatorship" because we are being told exactly what we can do and when... masks, travel, going to dinner, etc. He wants to know what happened to our freedom. Guess the pandemic is in charge!

Another eloquent and entertaining rant about the evil queen. You have a knack with dark humor on this sobering subject. Clever title for the theme--perfect punchline.

Hello Iza,
One thing is certain, the corona virus certainly showed people what they are made of. It would appear that a large number of people are willing to sacrifice their freedom for an opportunity to be safe, whatever that means. Every day I seem to hear about a different idea about the virus- wear a mask, don't wear a mask, isolate, you don't have to isolate, get a shot but still wear a mask, take the mask off if you're outside. Good Lord in heaven, I think it's been an experiment to prepare the people for the next excuse that the governments of the world will use to control people. We're living in terrible times for the world, and the people who love freedom better start speaking up or we're all doomed. Thanks for sharing.
Have a good evening.
