Yovnne,
Nice done puente poem for the potlach club. It tells of the hope bird song gives us even if our wish to fly doesn't come true.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

"but there are times when they come true
and seem to come out of the blue,
just when we've given up all hope
and reached that fraying end of rope.
I must have faith and keep believing
wishes I will be receiving." Reading these lines Noah's Arch come in mind and the messenger of a new beginning - the dove with the olive branch.

I like this form of poetry, very nicely done. We should never give up on our wishes because they are just another part of hope, and we should never give up on hope. Thank you so much for sharing. :)

You did an excellent job with your Potlatch challenge poem, Yvonne. I enjoyed reading it. Your two verses clearly have different POV's. The bridge works well to join them together and give readers much to think about. The color scheme is a great choice. The black background sets off the yellow font nicely. The doves pictured are beautiful, and give the idea that they do carry wishes to the sky when they fly. I like the internal rhyme of fly/sky and the alliteration of 'm.' The theme of your presentation is well thought out. Everyone has wishes, and hopes that they come true--some do, some don't. However, one must believe they will and be ready for them. If some don't, one can always revise their wishes as their life evolves.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Hi Yvonne, this is a beautiful poem. Maybe I read too much into it, but to me your words means that we never know what lies in wait for us, good or bad. To me that is so very true. What a lovely entry to the potlach. Ulla xxx

You hit it on the head. But we must keep dreaming/hoping/wishing. Thanks, Ulla.

I enjoyed reading this poem with the new to me style. I have heard of diamanté before, but not this one. The rhymes are great and so is the meter. I also liked the theme and the imagery is great. Well done.

There's a complexity to this style that shows your dedication and skill. The dove is a beautiful metaphor and there's great rhythm and perfect rhyme. Best of luck in the Puente.

Thank you. Got to keep wishing/dreaming/hoping.

This is a very skillfully-written, moving, uplifting but realistic poem. It gently reminds us that our long-not-met wishes may, when we least expect it, come true.

Sometimes they do come true. Always wish/hope. Thanks, Janice.
