You have good concrete imagery. I like how you personified the helianthus with the "standing" and "facing" verbs. The last line, though, detracted greatly from the imagery. We went from the beautiful image of the helianthus, imbued with strength and light, to a scientific statement. Otherwise, you have a good haiku and you have shown some real writing talent. Keep writing!
