It is both tough and jarring to watch your pre-teen go from a little boy playing with toys to a tall, slightly bearded, muscular young man. Surly, no longer saying yes sir respectively, but now says 'yeah.' when he speaks at all and does not just resort to grunts. You want to grab him and shake him, but you don't to totally alienate him. You think, just wait until Uncle Same gets his hands on you buster. but then you worry about him being placed in harms way over in Afghanistan or some place like that. Being a parent is tough, no doubt about it.

Bill,

You captured the essence of the boy changing to man in your pithy 2-4-2 poem.

I recognize a subtle difference between your use of 'time warp,' the noun, and (as) time warps.

You, as the poet, create the difference. Your selected artwork is a good companion to your few words.

Mark

I'm already experiencing this with my twin grandsons. They seem to have transformed overnight. A fine entry for the short verse 2-4-2, Bill. I wish you all the best for the day and for the upcoming contest,
Sal :))

Although you used only eight syllables to convey a message, you did it quite well. Ironically, I am using way more than eight syllables to tell you what I see in your piece.

I see a truth that many don't see; the incredible growth and maturity that we experience in this time interval. We are, truthfully, a completely different human at twenty than we were at twelve. The transformation is startling. You expressed it so well in a few syllables. Nice!
