I am so glad things turned out alright. I know from experience you got to be very careful what you say to children. I hope she is settling into her new environment. Thank you for sharing and stay safe.

Thanks. Yes, we have had some long conversations. Her mother showed her a news clip about sex trafficking in Rockford. I don't know if she had understood what that was because she wasn't taking things seriously (after all, she's 9) until she saw the film. We were fortunate that it was a nice neighbor that picked her up and not someone else. Smiles, Carol

Wow! So glad your neighbor recognized her and did the right thing. Also glad God sent her out on that road. Yes, that's a bunch of life-changing events for a child to handle all at once. Prayers for you and your family. Well-written story! Carol

Kids don't usually realize how dangerous the world can be. So glad she's back home.

My boys threatened on numerous occasions to run away, but never did. One made it outside, but was afraid of the dark, so came back in and said he'd run away in the morning. He didn't. I do understand.

This little girl is afraid to be in her bedroom in the dark but walked three miles on a country road at 9 PM. she loves nature, so I don't know if that's why she wasn't afraid or if an angel was walking with her. We just had a news clip about sex trafficking in our town...We were blessed that this neighbor found her and not one of those creeps. Smiles, Carol

I do believe He watches over the faithful and protects them from harm. I have been blessed. So happy she was found before anything happened to her. Well done. Nancy:)

Hello, Nancy. Thank you for stopping by and reading my tale of woe...actually, we were blessed, and it turned out okay, but every time I think about what could have happened...Ugh! The news just had a piece on the other night about sex trafficking... My baby girl was blessed to have the right person looking after her. Smiles and hugs, Carol

Yes indeed, we have a similar self-willed 9 year old granddaughter Indah, who could very well be like your great granddaughter Tycari, off course she's adored, and as my only granddaughter, the apple of my eye. But it's so wonderful God appoints Guardians to watch over and perform miracles, as this one here. Well done Carol, blessings Roy

I will be forever thankful for everyone involved in saving my Tycari last night. The ending could have been so different. God gave us a guardian angel I am positive of it. Smiles, Carol

Yes, life never stops messing things up, or giving us the fuel to set ourselves on fire. It will all get better, and hopefully soon. But just when we think everything is good, it will all fall to pieces again. Glad she's home safe!

Ne too! I am definitely too old for these all-nighters. I had two hours of sleep and then had to be up so Carissa could go to work. I am happy it ended well because, in Rockford, Ill., sex traffic has been a big thing lately...she could have been found by someone not so nice. Luckily she was found by someone nice. Smiles. Carol

I agree, thank the Lord for crying babies! The Lord finds a way where there is no way. There was your granddaughter, who not knowing her way around yet, took a wrong turn trying to get back home. Everyone was looking for her including the police. Late night and a lady, who doesn't even know your granddaughter except for she looked like the little girl who moved in down the street, is driving her baby around because she won't stop crying, just so happens to go down this very same dark, lonely, country road and happens to see her. She takes her to the nearest phone and calls the police. And now she is back home safe and sound. I'm looking at how many different scenarios that the Lord had to put together to get someone to be at the right place at the right time! Praise the Lord for crying babies!!! I'm so glad she is back home, Carol.

Your story is well written. Children react to things so differently. What stands out to me is that the Lord used a crying baby, to make sure someone was there to pick your great granddaughter up. Simple miracles happen every day and we do not always recognize them.

The title alone piques your interest. This is a great story because it has a great and blessed ending. Your granddaughter was found and brought home safely. Thank God for fixing our mistakes. When I was young I threatened to run away. My mom said, "good. Don't forget to take your wash cloth and soap so you can wash up in the morning. If you get hungry, you can come home for breakfast and then leave again." I decided not to run away.

Lorraine... You never know what kids are going to do these days. It could have ended so differently. Someone not so nice could have gotten her. Thank you God for the crying baby. A woman trying to help her child helped our child too. Smiles, Carol

Chilling to contemplate what might have been. After all the heartbreak--drownings of son/grandson, death of Wendy, at least this one potential tragedy turned out to have a happy ending. Gripping tale, well told.

When I got the phone call last night, there aren't words for how I felt, but I remained calm and joined the search. finally got back home at midnight. Three miles on a dark country road...just about anything could have happened. Smiles, Carol
