It's awful when our pets get sick and can't tell us what is wrong. I'm glad Molly is going to be okay and hope she will continue to bring joy to your family for many more years to come.

As a pet sitter, I really understand how stressful that must have been and so sad. I'm really glad she'll be okay. The tone of celebration at the end provides a delightful poetic contrast to the worry in the first part. Poignant lines:

We found a lump upon her leg,
she found her walks a drag.
She went right off her food and then
her tail ran out of wag.

Lots of great rhymes, a fine rhythmic groove and tons of poetic devices make this a well composed work! I especially applaud the alliteration of L in the last lines.

Hurray for MOLLY!

Hugs,
rd

P.S. I'm not very active here anymore, but I will visit on occasion. Hope you're well!

wonderful...yes, the bestest news ever! I would be devastated if something happened to my babies. They are my favorite companions and by my side always. I am so happy to hear that all is well. She's a cutie. Smiles, Carol

I'm thrilled for you and for Molly. Our pets no matter what they are need love and care just like people. I applaud your immediate care for her and pray that she recovers. Molly is a beautiful dog. Your poem reads well with good rhymes, smooth flow, and great imagery.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Hello, Debra,

A fine Short Rhymed Poem about your dog Molly....poor baby. I'm so happy she is okay. Pets are part of the family so it's upsetting when they are not well. The rhyme doesn't seem forced and it's easy to read...nice flow. I hate obscure poems.

I'm happy you enjoyed the poem and the picture.
Molly carries Ducky around all over (if a tennis ball isn't available!) Unfortunately, Ducky is now missing a wing and most of his stuffing!
Best wishes as always, Debra :)

This is a lovely, moving story well told in ballad stanza style. The vivid descriptions of the vet visits, the love and worry, and the relief will resonate with anyone who's ever had a pet with a health problem.
