This is an interesting spiritual write for the stripes topic Deb. Your descriptions of the gradual loss of sight and your personal Faith of healing makes for a beautifully emotional free verse. Cheers valda

Thank you, Valda. Knowing you don't share my faith makes your encouraging comments even more special.

Hi Debora, I'm so happy for you that you find solace in your deep faith. I, for one, do not share that belief. I enjoyed reading your poem and thanks a lot for sharing. Ulla:)))

Hi, Ulla. Thank you for reading and your kind comment, even though we have different faiths. I have friends of many beliefs and understand that each one of us is different in many ways. :)
    Blessings anyway!

Thank you, Dolly. I really hesitated putting this up because I hate the 'oh, I'm so sorry' response I was afraid of. But so far ... no sympathy! lol. And that's a good thing.
Thank yu for reading and your kind comments.
    Blessings,

My dear friend we all are struggling with our faith when we hit some health problems, but in the same time we get a chance to redeem our lack of faith by receiving miracles and the power to move one with a prayer.

So True! Thank you, Iza, for sharing that thought. I was diagnosed as 'going to be lights-out blind' by the time I was 25. I'm 60. God is good, even when we're not healed the way we hope.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Deb

Hi Deb, my mom is half deaf since she was eighteen, after the birth of my sister her hearing went down, but she like you enjoyed life and appreciated life.

Healed Is a lovely poem that points out one of many places in Scripture that leaves the reader without a strong sense of what God is talking about. You leave it open for debate and for God. Good call! LOL the problem of pain and suffering has caused many to doubt for thousands of years. I like your conclusion, God's Got this, either here on earth, or when you get to heaven. Thanks for sharing, God bless you!

Yes, if the only gift we ever received from God was being able just to praise Him, like the rocks and the trees. But God actually wanted us to live with Him forever, and share the untold wealth that comes from the riches in glory He has given us because of His incredible love and grace. Beautifully written friend Deb, excellent job, blessings Roy

Loved this, Deb!! And when I first saw Yvonne's prompt of "Stripes" that verse from Isaiah came to mind and yet, I couldn't quite pull off the poem I wanted to write. But you did it! I'm so proud of you!

How sweet! THank you. I do love that verse, but have had people I barely know walk up to me and tell me that I'm still vision impaired because my faith isn't strong enough. Blah! D Doesn't the Bible say that even our faith is not from us but a gift from God? How can they then accuse me of not having enough? lol. They do hate it when I make that comment, thugh. And I"m just snarky enough that I love it. lol
    Blessings and thanks,
    Deb

That's so weird anyone would say stuff like that. God is the only One Who can judge our spiritual fruit and vision!

PREACH! LOL. This is lovely Deb! None of us will always understand God or why He lets certain things happen to us, but it's for a reason. Your poem reminded me of the verse, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28.) And sermon? Well, this was the shortest one I've encountered!! LOL.

    lol! Thank you.
I am so sorry for how scattered I was during our conversaiotan the other evening. It had been such a weird day, and that leacheed into our visit. I'm not usually so overly-chatty and (almost) always allow others to get a word in edgewise!
    Prayers for this coming week:
    1. I'm going to be a model (victim or gunne pig) for my Meagan's practice. She's a PA but works in a spa that does cheek implants, lips fillers, etc. She needed 'an older lady' and my face is 'perfect' for what she needs to learn. I'd really like her to get it right! lol
    2. Thursday (a week from today) I'm giing a presentation to a MOMS group about living a life of tribulationwithout losing fith. I'd like to not cry when recalling some of the things that hppened years ago. And I absolutely want to honor God with my words! And, of course, help the moms inthe group.
    And I thin that's it! :)
    Blessings and hugs,
    Deb

LOL. It's fine Deb. I mean the first actual voice-to-voice conversation between two strangers will always involve being a little awkward and being interrupted, lol. So you're going to be a face model? :) Well, I'll definitely pray that you'll be perfectly still. When you go to the MOMS event, let the tears flow if they have to and please make sure that you're masked up and staying safe. So maybe next week Friday or Sat will be good to talk fully, lol? Let me know.
    Love ya!

This is an inspiring entry and your faith comes shining through your lovely words. I like the picture you selected even if you do not have a tattoo on your face. This is an excellent entry for the club event.

Thank you! While I'm far to cowardly to get a tat on my face, I'm going to be my daughter's guinna pig this week for her face fillers, lift thing. Yikes! I know she's a super professional but when she said, 'Mom, I need to pratice this on someone that's ... an older woman' I had to wonder. Do I really want this?! lol. We'll see...
Blessings and thank you for the kind words!

OK, I liked it, even though I feel that the "uncertainty" line doesn't fit with the rest of the poem. As a Christian, I can identify with so many of these thoughts; your Christian heart rings true, as do your words. I live in south central Texas myself, and I am happy to meet someone with a gifted pen.

It's good to meet you, too!
Thank you skye! I do love being blessed by God. And the uncertainty part only comes on occasion usually when my husband is out of town and the house is too quiet. Being an empty nester is great until it isn't. lol.
And I do love living in Texas! We're in the very center - the geographical center of our state. But I'm from Austin, originally.
And thank you for the compiment of your last line!
    Blessings,
    Deb
