I've seen enough birthdays. I wouldn't mind skipping the last one, in particular. Excellent light tone in this, and that's always appreciated. I can't believe how many things we've missed out on. I hope people will get their act together and see that the schools are fully open next year. We've also missed state fairs and other big events. Indiana is planning on having the state fair this year, after cancelling it last year. Great rhyme, and best of luck in the contest. judi

thanks, Judi
good for Indiana!
don't you love the teachers who are teaching the illegal children who've just come across our borders who could have God knows what diseases but not their American students.
Thank you for your neat comments.

I have to say I'm proud of Indiana for how it carried on throughout the pandemic. If the kids aren't back in school next fall, something is seriously wrong. judi

Hello Katharine :)
I'll go along with that, I wouldn't be as close to 50 then!
I enjoyed the humour in your rhymed poem.
Good luck in the contest!
Best wishes as always,
Debra

Haha makes sense to me, too, Pome Lover. You did a great job with your contest entry. You give readers much to think about--esp with the virus still hanging round. Best wishes.
Thanks for sharing.

Truthfully I'd rather have a do-over of my 50th year when I was bedridden because of a spinal abscess. I know a lot of people missed out on graduations and 21st birthday celebrations due to COVID. Good luck in the contest.

well I don't blame you.
And all those folks could have do-overs, or make-ups and older folk such as I could just be a year younger. a win-win.
Thanks for reading and for the good luck.
