I read through this shout-out post and was super surprised a second time to see anyone mention my name--(a nobody going nowhere up to nothing, really).
(The first super surprise was that the review committee even noticed my existence at all, I think I almost fell out my seat... for as much of a: too-much-information girl that I can be, I'm also group shy. And slow, so painfully slow. And haven't had the time to review like I used to review, or how I prefer to review.)
Helen and three of the others who placed, i.e., Jay Squires, Robyn Corum, and Mary Kay Bonfante, are often among the esteemed company.
(These guys all work hard and touch so many people. I don't know how they find the energy. Blazing comets of awesome, helping out all across the spectrum. I probably wouldn't have even been posting anything at all to Fanstory of late had Jay not said hey, Turtle, you there...?) Ya... I'm here... just hiding in my shell.
In second place was Turtle, an off-and-on-again member since {2007},
(slight correction... 2009) I've been a member since 2009)
Though I sometimes hide in my shell.
Honorable mention went to Marigo J. Stathis, who became a member just
(It's nice to see new reviewers praised when they start off gung ho about reviewing, and an active standard member at that.)
So, end thoughts. This post is short and sweet; I like that it does a secondary highlight to the site's happenings, making it have local audience appeal. The tone is upbeat and informal, making it an easy read.
In truth, I'm kind of embarrassed, tho. Like I got caught on the couch in my jammies spooning icecream straight out the carton and someone handed me a ribbon for my hard work.

You sure are attentive to what's going on on FS. I don't know how Helen does it. She must work 24/7 on FanStory. It was good that a newcomer received honorable mention for reviewing. That's encouraging, since so many seize the opportunity to show off by issuing one or two star reviews. judi

I think that you deserve special recognition for always finding something to praise about the members of FS. Such positivity is so uplifting and encouraging for the people who are singled out. It's important to discover that one's work (reviews as well as writing) is noticed and appreciated.
Keep exploring the community as you do because you always find something the rest of us overlook, in terms of its significance.

I think we all appreciate those reviewers who spend their valuable time reviewing and helping others to improve their craft. Then, there are those like me who review, but only write silly stuff. Keeping my suggestions to myself, since I don't know the difference between right and wrong, good or bad writing besides what makes me smile. Thanks for sharing.

I must be really bad, I've only received two honourable mentions, despite countless nominations. Also my entry into countless site writing contests, I've never even sported one single placing or even an honourable mention. Though I've won many sponsored contests and POM nominations and two POM wins. I'm tempted to tell those nominating me for ROM not to bother, and I don't enter contests anymore. Not worth the soul being destroyed by others. But I rarely give four stars, I'd rather correct syntax or grammar plus form errors than discourage, as you can see. The best Reviewer by a country mile is Rama Devi, and most encouraging. The others, I get good reviews but never the depth of RD, bless you Liz, don't be a policewoman. Blessings Roy
